Edgedancer (The Stormlight Archive, #2.5)
Lift, a 13 year old girl, has more sense than Shallan, Kaladin and Dalinar combined. Rather, she has far more prowess at 'connecting the dots' than these lead characters who are frustratingly dumb in WoR for the most part.

For the love of almighty! This book is mediocre. Individual scenes have been great. But it got the story, characters nowhere where it should have taken them. Sanderson bottlenecks the story to create what's called an avalanche.
Well, I for one am getting tired of plodding through snail paced plot waiting for the avalanche to start. It's his writing style, but after my binge Cosmere reading, I've grow tired of this.

This is just stupid. I would endure slow unraveling of plots but the slow pace should be a consequence of all the obstacles that are in place. But when no obstacles are in place and your character goes, "Wait. Someone's dead. The world's about to end. Of all people, this X guy would sort of understand my outlandish claims. But I won't talk to him. Instead I'd sing, fa la la la laaaa".
This is fucking stupid!

Way to let down, Sanderson! After all the tension!
I'm so close to being pissed off about the entire fantasy genre and lengthy books in general. Every goddamned book has characters 'infiltrating' other groups. Every encounter between major characters ends with them still being dumb about what's going on, even though they could just speak about stuff right away after the 'same, urgent threat' they faced together.

I do not claim to understand the inner workings of the voting system behind these GR awards but if the major factor is the number of 'votes' in the polls, then I for one would love to see a different type of awards that's not basically a popularity bragging contest.
Give awards to the highest rated books by dividing books into various bands of 'number of ratings' in a calendar year, maybe.

I had to pick this up right away! What with the way The Way of Kings ended.
I'm fucking nervous. What shitstorm...I mean, Everstorm, is brewing in Roshar?

Okay. I can sense the avalanche coming, the storm brewing. But there still some time before they hit I think, still not clear links between all the parallel storylines.

I think I know why the spheres Kaladin has always seem to lose their Stormlight. Fuck, I can't wait for the moment he realizes what it means!
But is my guess even correct?
P.S: No, don't answer. I'm just reflecting on what I'm reading :P

She was not going to ruin a good dress for a pot of drooling, wall-staring, imbecile grass. And that was that.
Hahahaha. In every other world, someone describing 'grass' in those terms would have been the actual imbecile. But here, where the character comes from, it makes sense from her perspective. Lol.

This book is slow, as is expected with a 1000+ page book and a 10 part series. Many character arcs are being setup meticulously, hopefully the payoff in the end is awesome.

Okay, the Shardblade summoning during the chasmfiend hunting scene is sick AF!!!
10 heartbeats. Counting them while describing the chaos was intense AF.
And..... Oathbringer!

I noticed that all the series in Cosmere have one main character who reads books.
Elend in Mistborn.
Raedon in Elantris.
Shallan in Stormlight Archives.
Susebron in Warbreaker.
It makes me smile that Sanderson creates these characters after our own, considering how obsession some of us are with reading.

Nope. I can't hold it. Half way through The Emperor's Soul and I can't keep my mind of the anticipation of reading TWoK.

Aah, well! I think I can hold my excitement for SA for 1 more day. I just don't want to miss any Easter eggs in SA because I did not read this novella. That's one of the reasons I read every other book in Cosmere before I pick SA.

It's fascinating and frustrating at the same time. The new revelations are mind blowing. But why aren't the characters reacting like any normal person would when they hear such stuff? I'm disappointed. I can only hope Sanderson is deliberately holding back the details for a late time in the book.
