I have looked at this book for months every time I was in the bookshop thinking it could be something for me or something I'd just hate.
So far I like the writing and am intrigued.

About 1h into a 25h audiobook and I am surprised how much I enjoy the narrative voice so far. But we haven't hit water and the dreaded endless descritions yet.

Two more stories to go and I am reminded why I avoid short story collections. I always love the good stories, but the bad just ruin it for me so much.

Finished the first two stories. Story 1 was interesting, but didn't grab me as muc has the second did. Both dealt with past, present and future and time in general as well as our part in influencing it.

Not invested enough to actually care about it, but caring enough to want to know the ending.
Isn't that among the worst reading experiences you can have?

When your friend declutters and gives you a beautiful book you end up reading crime fiction. It reads very easy, but I'm not sure what it actually wants to do.

a little under 3 hours left and I am torn between utterly bored and angry. Not a bad book, just not what I want to read these days.

I have been going back and forth on getting this and am not regretting finally just trying it. Although the writing is not partiularly to my liking so far the described expriences feel too real at points for me.

Halfway through and highly enjoy listening to him talk about his life and food.

This is not nearly as funny as I thought it would be. Granted it's been in my wish list for ages and I forgot why I added it.

This has been popping up everywhere so I decided to see what it is about. So far I have no idea of the world we're in and who or what the characters are, but it reads super fast and well. Hopefully things will unfold more and will make sense in the end.

I'm an a Yuri Herrera binge as it also fits well with my aim of reading shorter books off my wish list in January. Looking forward to starting his latest and last translated book (as far as I saw).

Going in blind an have no idea what is going on. Not as much into it so far as Kingsom Cons, the atmosphere feels rougher, less mellow.

Decided to start the year with a quick read and so far I love it. The writing just flows, the plot is somewhat captivating, although not much is really happening.

not going to make this my primary read for January and may move over to the audio completely, just to fhave it read as I am not enjoying the reading process atm.

I think I am not interested in the characters, which doesn't make reading more interesting at all.

This isn't going well. I had expected to be able to follow the events and story at least superficially without looking up anything. But it's not possible. I googled people a lot when not reading in bed (and my phone next to me), vocabulary more when in bed (as I read on Kindle). The writing sadly doesn't grab me and mostly doesn't appeal to me. And I get lost all the time where or when we are.

This is so boring I can barely make myself listen. So far it feels like it's either descriptions of sex or war related events. I've lost all interest and honestly have no clue what is going on anymore.
It's not what I liked about the short story collections at all anymore, but what least interests me in fantasy.

I first started this in uni but couldn't keep up with the reading or understand enough to follow. I always thought I'll take the course again later, but that never happened and since then I wanted to read it. This Chistmas vacation will be my chance to just read it for story and enjoyment. I will not try to get every little bit that is hidden or hinted at in the text. But that's fine by me.

Slow progressing although I really enjoy it when I can focus and sit down with it.

I really like the writing and narrator, I just don't have time to sit down and read long sections, which is already hurting my relationship with the book. :(

feeling in a discworld mood today, and this is the next in my reread of the series. Strangely appropriate as Rincewind looks how I feel this week.

I'll put this down for a while, maybe ever as this is not making any sense to me rn. Threre are absolutely beautiful spot on sentences and then there are what feels like a random collection of words.

maybe this wasn't a good idea. I don't think I know what I'm reading and it feels like I should pay more attention than I did so far.

The rereading experience is great, just love being back with the characters and the world. However, the first time around I felt a lull in the story once they are in the library and that's where I am just now experiencing the same lull. Still love it though.

I heard about this in connection with eating for runners, especially eating enough when you are not hungry (which happens to me on longer run days a lot). So far I am very impressed and am called out on some internalized diet culture behavior I hadn't realized.

I've been itching to reread this for a while so finally giving in. Reading it the first time I felt lost at times and thought this might just get better on a reread. So looking forward to see how I feel about the book 2 years later.

This might be the best thing happening this week.

It's been too long since I read a Discworld novel. It's always like coming home and meeting old friends, you think it'll be awkward after such a long time, but then it's like no time has passed and everything is great.

I have no idea what this is about and am confused by the random seeming capitalization, but love reading it and guessing what is going on.
