This is another reread this month, mostly reading in bed and as you can see I didn't get far yet, which is okay as it means I am sleeping through the night :)

What shall I say, it's comfort reading in bed.

Everything she says feel so logic and yet revelatory. So far I also think that everything she says is still true for non-white straight males (albeit to a lesser degree for white straight females, who are the focus of this essay).

This is not the edition I'm reading, and I'm saying that because I waited for my edition to come out because the cover was the most beautiful of all available ones. And I judge a book by its cover, we all know that.
Aside from that the book has been my companion in a lot of sleepless nights this week, while my mind was jumping from one thought to another the narration does the same, looking closely at the mundane.

read a few more pages and still don't care much for it.

A few hours in it starts to pick up. I really wasn't expecting much and the beginning didn't convince me. I'm still a litte eh about the plot, but it is mostly fun. inthe same way book 1 was.

Taking my time as I have been busy and distracted all week, so couldn't focus and this book deserves my full attention!

Just what I needed this weekend.

Let's be real, this was included in my membership plan and I thought it's a good opprotunity to give Dickens another try, as we haven't had the best of relatiosnhips over the years. So imagine my surprise that about 4h in I am enjoying the writing - that never happened before.

This reads rather fast, although I can't say I have figured out what I'm in for. Curious to see how it will end and if it will put more meaning into events so far.

Barely started and once again impressed by her writing skills. The narrator is completely different from all her others before and just as captivating.

I don't like the writing or the story.

Haven't read this in ages, but feel transported right back into the lives of the Glass family and Salinger's narrative voice. I really enjoy this.

I forgot how good this one is. Personal and political relationships are being explored all while making you laugh out loud at times.

Love the narrative voice, it feels so familiar and how nothing much happens while everyone is busy talking and following some scheme or other.

I've reached part 3 and things are starting to drag. And what's this about Dagne and all the men in her live? Why is she the center of the universe to these men and the movement? Oh where will it all go?

Total cover buy, didn't even bother to read the beginning or synopsis. And I am enjoying the weirdness of the situation and the characters. Honestly, if I had read a plot I wouldn't have picked it up, so don't let that put you off.

After 25h of this I really like what she is doing, and the writing. But honestly what is going to happen in the next 37h?

I don't know hwat to think, I just keep marveling at the desire to hurt others in the mother and daughter. Wondering where this is going. And then I will dive into what others thought.

I've listened to 10 of 62 hours so far and I love it. The audiobook helps as it is very slow going focusing on the characters and train and metal industry a lot. I can already tell that there are big questions to be tackled and I have been wondering if I would perceive the events and characters differently if I could read it without my preconceptions. Would I like James Taggart and his friends then?

I'm still not more involved or care about things.
The writing is fine, the stream of consciousness letter style feels like the narrator is talking directly to us. However, nothing much is happening and I am somehwat put off by this old man having a kid with this woman half his age. So far the meeting of those two has just been hinted at and it is strange.

I've been reading more or less for a week, but mostly falling asleep. I feel like I'm not treating the book well, as I am not in love and thought I would be. Hoping to read more this weekend to see how I feel if we spend more time together.

I like the writing a lot, not so sure about the actual story.

Slowly making my way through the stories refusing to give up, despite not particularly enjoying any of them.

I really don't feel invested in most of the stories.

Why did I put this off for so long and why didn't I want to listen to the audiobook?
The story is amazing and I love the audiobook!
