Back at work and at falling asleep after a page. Sad as I am enjoying this.

I've reached the point where I just want this to be over.
Not clear what it wants to tell me, makes me feel like an elitist snob (mostly for being better educated than anyone in the book) and despite enjoying reading about someone my age, she doesn't feel my age, but much older, which makes me feel akward.
Yeah, overall a me thing more than a book thing I guess.

Working on my goal to read more German authors this year. So far I am enjoying the writing and that it's about a woman closer to my own age. Slightly put of or confused by the vagueness of the location.

Picked the audiobook up in a 2 for 1 sale not having heard of it before and it is just the right book to get me started on my 2023 goals to have more energy and be less messy again.

I can tell that this came out when I was at uni and hadn't quite shifted to reading the original instead of the German translation. I know the feel of the watch and Vimes character in this, but have no clue about the plot. Enjoying it so much!

When in need for a bookish hug, just pick up a comfort read :)

I was so looking forward to reading this, but now I find myself rather wanting to watch an adaptation as all the fighting description is too much for me. I enjoy wuxia in film more than in writing I guess.

What do you call it when the writing style just gives you a feeling of welcome, placing you by the fire and handing you a cup of tea?
Whatever it is, this is how the book makes me feel.
And yes, I don't mind the repetition of the rules and such.

Puh, this is a lot of violence and rape and hardship. Was not prepared for that.

Totally here for the story unfortunately not in love with the writing.

It is always amazing how little I know about books that are so popular and everyone talked about years ago LOL.

Barely started and wish I could spend the day in bed reading.

So much its party ll the time and meet random people from the arts scene and be judgmental or analytical about their behavior.
Old grumpy Wiebke feels it's mostly pretentious and not sure what it wants to be.
Past Wiebke puts in a disclaimer that I may have behaved similarly in my 20s so shouldn't be too harsh and just enjoy the show.

Picked this up again and just can't get into the story :(

The politics is starting to get boring, something needs to happen to really keep my attention here.

Slow going mostly due to me not having proper reading time. Enjoying it though so far.

This is really disappointing the expectations I had of it. It's boring, can't get into the writing and really don't know what it actually wants to tell me.

It is happening, after years of resisting and thinking the author is not for me I am giving him a try, and oh that might go wrong and add an epic fantasy series onto my reading list.

Taking a break as the story drags a bit just now and I really am not hooked. Honestly still don't know what this is actually about. Beautiful writing still.

Finally started this for real and really enjoying the narrative voice.

Oh so many switching of perspectives when I just want to read about what's going on with Asmodeus and Thuan. Ah well.

Pleasantly surprised this is not about Silverspires and Selene anymore, but more about Asmodeus and the Dragon Kingdom. Finally.

I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to like Asmodeus as much as I do. Totally blaming reading the sppin off novellas first. Was so happy when he finally showed up, as a mean violent muerous cunning opponent, but hey, that was never a secret in the novellas either.

Seeing this appear on my audible app this morning just made me so happy. About an hour in and love it just as much as the rest of the series already.

This is going so much slower than I had expected. Then again it is a novel and not a novella, so of course it's at a different pace (and let's not ignore being super tired all week).

I wish I had the time to binge this in one sitting.

Too much of this book is being read on sleepless nights so that I by now feel a bit over the characters and detaied recounting of their marriage.

Barely started and already in love with the writing. Short paragraphs, a lot of jumoing around in time and place. And everyone has a not-normal background/uprbringing to build a personality on.

This is so not what I thought it would be. My fault for choosing a book by cover, title and length. However, the writing is making up for a not easy fast pasted read with murder, rape and violence.

Utterly in love with the writing and the narrator or main character.
