Listened to ep's 8&9. Mr. Lowell is clearly superior to me in the writing of fun, engaging, interesting chapters all about clothes & getting dressed. This is a measure to aspire toward.

Just finished episodes 6&7.

It's nice to take an hour away from my own SciFi epic to visit the crew of the Lois McKendrick. Already they're like family.

Finished Quarter Share, listened to the first episode of Half Share. As I suspected, it feels more like a continuous story than separate books. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing; I've done the same in my Untrue Tales... series.)

This was the only Michael W. Dean book the Phoenix Library had, so I'm checking it out.

Long stretches of ep's 13-15 I had a huge grin plastered across my face. Very nice.

Fun character interactions in episodes 11&12. Keeping me interested.

Listened to episodes 8-10 tonight. Getting more into the specifics of their trading. Less eager to keep listening, but still quite interested.

Listened to episodes 6 & 7. I was right that this will be an excellent motivator to work out, by restricting listening to my bowflex use; I quite want to hear the next episode already.

Listened to ep's 4&5. Getting even better.

Finally begun; listened to the first 3 episodes in one go. Excellent, so far, as expected.

Having read the book about the speeches, including long, detailed excerpts and examinations of their structure, reading them outright feels dull/repetitive.

Pretty good. An engaging read. I don't recall ever reading anything by Poul Anderson or Dean Ing before, and I've only ever read Niven's Ringworld & Integral Trees books. Reading this reminded me of the proper scifi I don't think I've read in decades. Will have to seek out more.

Pretty good, so far. Borrowed this back in high school from a friend. Just now got around to reading it. Yes, it's been ~19 years on my shelves.

Done with the main text; 122 pages of appendices, 49 pages of end notes & bibliography, and a 13 page index remain. I plan to read the appendices (Lincoln's own words, demarcated), but will skip the other 62 pages.

As the book has progressed, more and more has been framed as advice & instruction for lawyers and would-be lawyers about how to apply Lincoln's law experience in a modern law practice. This, I was not expecting.

Surprisingly readable. Haven't reached proper geometry or demarcation of speeches, yet, but the writing, so far, is clear and flows well. Looking more forward to the remainder.

If this proves too dense for my state of mind, tonight, I found another "The Man..." book on my shelves that should be an easy read.

I quit. This is dreadful.

I think this is the last book I could find on my shelves whose title began with "The Man..." and... I don't have high hopes. I think I got it in a free bag of books at the end of a library sale, & then couldn't sell it in a year at my 2nd-hand store. But I'll give it a try.

It's hard to read this without picturing David Bowie. I've only seen the film once; I think I'd like to watch it again after I finish this.

Next up from books whose titles start with "The Man..."

Erk. Unreliable narrator. Now that I notice it, it bugs me. I wonder whether I never read books w/that before last year, or just didn't notice anything wrong. Now it frustrates the heck out of me.

This is my next book. Grabbed all the books from my shelves with titles that start with "The Man..." and am finding they all share themes of parallel worlds.

I don't want to stop reading, it's very engaging here, but I must get back to recording for awhile.

Interesting, so far.
