Also their double endentre of carte blanche is cracking me up.

It's basically in her wording, is when a man offer a woman what he wants all the pleasures of marriage but none of the responsibilities.

Carte blanche = premarital sex. Apparently. LOL

Maman

Well at least the french seems correct to me. Granted it's formal. My French Canadian relatives usually would say mama informally.

Keep in mind, that I haven't spoken semi-fluent french since I was around 6 years old. lol

I'm almost done. YAY. This has been an intense crazy book. It kinda emotionally exhausted me while reading it, but I want to finish this tonight (maybe tomorrow, if it gets to be too much).

Some homophobia, Davey, really? * judges* I was giving her some passes, because she has to learn, but this is a non-pass issue for me.

I'm really not sure how I feel about Bitsy and Walter. You can also tell this book is set in the 80's. Lol

I'm kinda weirded out that there seems to be A LOT of focus on the victim's looks. How pretty and beautiful they were. They were beautiful, but stop with the most emphasis on that fact, please? It's really creepy/problematic, imho.

I love how there is so much depth to her novels that I did not notice as a kid, but I see as an adult. :)

Awe, that's sad. One of the victim's mothers had to go to the hospital after finding out, because her inability to accept the death of her child. She had a breakdown. That is so sad. :(

This book is quite sensationalized (like watching a murder documentary on tv). Quite graphic descriptions of the victim's bodies and the assaults on them, including rape. So trigger warning.

I have been neglecting my reading, so I want to do some no-pressure reading. I might take breaks to do other things but I want to focus on reading tonight. :D
