Weill, I'm going to do some shelf editing on here. I turned off book updates for adding to shelves, so hopefully you won't get spammed.

I'm LURVING this so far. Not even in a snarky amused way, but in a this is actually good. I love how it feels more gothic than your typical bodice ripper. More ominous too. The atmosphere.

Just read a really simple breathing method to get my breathing under control next time I get a panic/anxiety attack. :D

I'm going to write this technique down and keep it in my purse.

If you want the technique, let me know.

Thinking of putting Jude Deveraux on my authors to avoid list, not because of bad behavior, but because her style is not for me.

Anyone who has read her, do you think I should say nay to her books as whole or should I try another series?

I've only read two of her books. I feel like I should try one more book, before ditching her completely. IDK.

I honestly don't get this. Why would you be turned on by someone who gets off on tormenting you through your money/inheritance? Uses it to control/manipulate you? Also possessive. It's not in a kinky way. I guess it's a fantasy for the reader. *shrugs*

Also traitorous body alert.

And I just read that Charlie just suggested Bella see a therapist. When I was a teenager until I reached a certain age, I had no choice in that matter.

Be a parent, Charlie.

I'm surprised no one sent her to a therapist at least. Bella was severely depressed. I'm not saying she should have gotten medication, but at least some therapy to help her grieve the loss of this relationship. I mean depression sucks. I've been there, and yeah, this is just sad.

Bella, you are in the denial stage of pre-being dumped. Both Bella and I know she's gonna be dumped, but she is in denial.

We all know it's gonna be messy after the break up.

This book has some problematic language. You can also see how dated this book is. Very cis-centric and heterocentric.

The MC's mother is a university professor who doesn't really like women because they are apparently too intimidated~~~ by her. In comparison her step mother is a 26 year old too happy air-head.

DNF.

Fuck this. I have way too many books to read.

Ugh. I am so over teens hating their step parents for no good reason. Especially hate the evil step momma trope in modern ya. As someone who has a step mother and a step father.

Is it too early to say I hate everyone in this book?

After the perfection of Black Swan, you can really see how bad this is in comparison.
