I think Nesbo's writing improves in the later books imo. This is a good book, but the writing is lacking a certain something that some of the later books have. I realize that these books are translations.

This book has an irrational phobia of mine, humans being shrunk and put in peril danger. Fuck no. DNF.

Claire in a letter to Bree: "Stand up straight and try not to get fat." Yes, god forbid she get fat *rolls eyes* 😒 I have realized why this book feels like its taking forever, because it feels like its just laying the prep work for books to come.

At least I'm starting to get more into this. I have no idea why this book is so boring to me compared to the others. This one is the weakest of the series for me (so far).

Some of King's villains in this book are actually behaving well for once with helping abandoned children. I'm thankful that the little girl isn't a grown woman because they sure love to rape or assault women.

I hate it when women lie about being raped. It makes the actual survivors look like liars 😤😤😤

The MC's first patient is convinced that his penis is talking to him and to others. I can understand why given the patient's mental state, but couldn't it have been something else? Because now I can't take this book seriously. Lol
