This book is bringing the gloom and doom. Also sexual harassment. At least the author is handling it decently.

I do like the main morality of this book. How corrupt medical insurances are. It's about $$ not patient care. It's fucked up.

We now have pearl clutching over adults skinny dipping AFTER kids went to bed. It's all consensual, and they were pearl clutching over sexual jokes and innuendos. I mean theres a time to be serious/responsible but I would not like to hang out with them that much. Lol

The magic in the book is pretty accurate for fiction but with liberties taken, but all in all, impressed.
I'm infinitely amused that the narrator thinks it's all about him tho.

I have to agree with Nenia, this would make an interesting movie or tv movie series. :)

I'm having such a hard time focusing on this book when I'm reading it. I find Straub's writing,on his own, really dry. *Sighs*

Things are getting interesting. We have a conspiracy plot brewing. Also I like Cordelia, I hope her character arc doesn't get axed or goes downhill once the H/h meet/fall in love.

I'm finished...Holy crap. While I don't agree with everything, this book was a very riveting read. I'm emotionally drained tho.

This book is uber depressing and anger-inducing but I cannot stop reading for more than 30 minutes. It's tragic but I really feel for her and most of her sister-wives. It's just a shitty situation. I'm ready to castrate her husband too.

I've always found it, for lack of better work, intriguing that sexually repressed to an extreme societies and/or cults have a rampant sexual obsessions especially when it comes to women. Especially when it involves people they are related to by blood/marriage.
I don't even dwell/think about sex
that
much. Especially if it doesn't involve me.

Her marriage was really depressing. When I got married (not legally), it was one of the happiest days of my life so far. I think that's how it should be.
