Stephens does her due diligence in describing setting--every detail of the bar and the house is provided for the reader--which can be good, but if it doesn't serve a purpose, it's just a word count eater. Especially since she neglects to give Kiera's family any dialogue. She kind of glazes over those phone conversations, noting that Kiera misses her family, but I don't FEEL anything for those people
