Much better than the previous volume. Got caught up in the story and before I knew it I'd read most of the book. Sad thing is I now only have 120 pages left in the 15 volume Sword of Truth epic :(

The final book in the series. I have been putting this off because I didn't want Richard and Kahlan's this story to end.

Good nostalgic comic strips. (I had to edit the details on this book as the author, illustrator and editor were missing.)

This obviously a character based story, but I'm having a hard time finding any of the characters interesting.

An unexplained switch to a new character and POV was somewhat odd. I almost thought I was reading a different book in Part II.

The first two chapters were great. Still early on in the book but it's slowwwww :)

After having this on my wishlist for years I finally found a copy on sale. The full price of $50 was a bit to much for my wallet.

Only just getting into this and liking it so far. Not sure where it's going.. I can see a good opportunity for Jewish 'v' Arabic mysticism but I doub't that's the story here :)

I have read 4 of Norton's pulp era books in the last 2 years and have not been impressed by any of them. Giving the author a final shot with her most popular series.

Double teaming this one with eBook/Audible Whispersync. Using my Kindle Fire that can do both. Added bonus is I can also look up pictures of Florence locations and the artwork being referenced in the novel. Makes for a great overall experience.

Movie comes out on October 28th. Got to finish this before then!

Not an easy read. So many names beginning with 'H'; Hitler, Himmler, Heydrick and with the TV on in the background I once found myself reading one of them as Hillary...lol

I think the authors failure to fully explain the perversion/blight leads to a lack of tension in the story. I'm just over half way and it's becoming a slog to read.

Some ideas are a bit far off in terms of tech, but the majority is within a few years.

So far this seems to follow on from Daemon quite nicely. I will be interested to see where it goes.

Post 9/11 Spillane where Saudi Terrorists have become the bad guys. You can guess what happens to them.

Received a few WWII books both factual and fiction. Thought I would try this one and dip a toe in the water rather than go off the deep end and read 1,200 pages of 'Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' :)

The last novel Spillane completed before his death.

Only just started but so far I'm finding it interesting.

Interested to see how this ends up.

I'm enjoying the story but not the authors fragmented style.

At first I was not enjoying this as much as the previous two books. About half way through I had to adjust my opinion as the London slang and multitude of pop culture references brought a smile to my face, Apparently the predecessor of CCTV was eyeball 1.0 :)

So far, this reminds me a bit of 'The Goblin Emperor'.

Things are hotting up in this story. I'm thinking there are still some shocking revelations to come though.

Another book that's been sitting around for years.

Although the narrator does a fantastic job with English accents I'm finding his American accent a bit off. Still very good though.

Prompted by the discussion at the Orange County meetup I started on book 3 of this series.
