At the start the author was obviously new and it felt a lot like fan fiction. However, the writing rapidly improves and the world and character building really ramp up with new locations and additional POV's. From about page 400 or 500 I'm finding this hard to put down.

Keith Stoner and family return to earth after more than 100 years and find things are totally different from when they left. Still trying to figure out how Bova is going to fit these two different timelines together.

There is a good story hidden in here somewhere, but so far this reads like the literary equivalent of a 4 hour PowerPoint on ethics and diversity. Hopefully it will improve in the second half.

This book started of great but for some reason the writing is not resonating with me as I get further into it.
