At the start the author was obviously new and it felt a lot like fan fiction. However, the writing rapidly improves and the world and character building really ramp up with new locations and additional POV's. From about page 400 or 500 I'm finding this hard to put down.

Almost 1000 pages in and this feeling like a LitRPG, Fantasy soap opera, but in a good way! Several stories developing with intersecting character arcs. Very engrossing.
