Prompted by the discussion at the Orange County meetup I started on book 3 of this series.

Alternative history of WWII. Super powered Nazis v magic powers. So far I am really liking it.

Slowly making progress with this one. I only get to read it when I can really pay attention and have no distractions.

This was an Audible daily deal and I bought it based on the narrator being Stephen Fry. A collection of 'thinking detective' stories similar in style to Sherlock Holmes. Pretty good so far.

Lately I haven't had much of the quality reading time that this book requires.

Pandora's Star was so complex that I have to continue with the second part of the story while it's all still fresh in my mind.

I was forced to read this in school and hated it. Also disliked the latest movie. So far re-reading the book is turning out much better:)

Noticed this in library and thought I would give it a shot since it's so short.

I wish time travel really existed, Then I could go back a couple of weeks and tell myself not to waste time reading this rubbish:)

Did a lot of reading over the weekend and well on my way to finishing this one. It looks like I will continue straight on with Judas Unchained as I'm finding this story exceptionally engaging.

This book crosses barriers, part literature, party historical fiction, part crap.

It's been many years since I read a Robbins book and so far this is living up to my expectations.

Now I know where the title of the book comes from :)

This book has LOT's of dialogue. The further I get into it the more annoying the English characters obviously written by an American gets.

Part of the story has moved into the voyage of exploration trope, which happens to be one of my favorites.

This is not a book to be taken lightly. It needs full concentration to follow all the POV's and sub-plots.

The narrator of the Audible book is really getting on my nerves. None of the characters are the least bit interesting.

Another detective novel from Max Allan Collins that combines fiction with known historical facts and events.

Not very far into this yet but it's certainly not grabbing me.

Hamilton's style reminds me of Iain M Banks. Many diverse POV's at the beginning that I'm sure will all pull together.

The characters discover they only have 3 and a half canteens of water. The next thing one of them says is "I need a bath" .. Geez how dumb is that.

Opps. Goodreads put in an extra zero on my first update. I'm only on page 50, not page 500! I sure wish I could read that fast. This book, and it's 2nd half 'Judas Unchained', have been on my 'to read' list for ages. Being picked as book of the month for the Space Opera group is just the incentive I needed to get started.

This gets more absurd the further I get into it. Great SF comic relief though.

Wil Wheaton reading John Scalzi - pretty much the dream team of SF audio books :)

I wouldn't say Goodkind jumped the shark with this one. More like jumped the megalodon :)

There seems to be a whole lot of characters missing the obvious in this one.

This story seems to meander all over the place without much direction. Looks like there will be a big finish though.
