I've read this book before and thought it was ok. However, this is Ilona Andrews. And I love them. I also watch my friends read and love the later books and Damnit, I feel left out. Thus, I will not stop reading (ok listening to) this series until at least book 3. If I don't like book 3, I'll allow myself to stop.

I was not a huge fan of book 1 & hoped book 2 was better. Well, it's still not the best, it's slightly monotonous, like reading a shopping list. However, I find myself still reading.

I like this book but something is missing. I don't know what it is. I just know nothing is making me want to read it.

Way too much inner dialogue. If I hear her say "he's a fierce warrior" one more time.... I'm gonna scream.

Mark Watney has to be one of my all time favorite characters. I drove from Sacramento to Sonoma to Sausalito to San Francisco and back home with 5 teenage girls & they became so into the story that we sat in the parking lot at Sonoma State listening & we were almost late for the tour. This was four teenage girls with cellphones, & this audiobook stopped them in their tracks.

This book is heartbreaking and so touching.

Don't know why I picked this book. Horrible cover. Regardless, what a great start.

OK, so this author clearly was a botanist /astronaut /Mars survivor. He knows his stuff. Not that I would know the difference but it is convincing. Now, before you say booooorrrriiiing. The main character, who is the only character, is an absolutely fantastic, and humorous narrator.

"Hell yeah I'm a botanist, fear my botanist powers."...

This is getting good.

I hate I'm such a romantic dreamer. I just started tearing up and I was driving. Damn romance. I fucking had to pull over because I couldn't see with tears in my eyes. Ha.

I love this book. Great story, great characters. However, don't call the clitoris a "pearl". It just doesn't seem right.

Very interesting start. Totally tired after being up half the night as designated driver. Now I'm tired and watching early 90's movies instead of reading or being productive.
