Loving the local flavour of this. I do think that those unacquainted wirh Malayali culture will find some parts incomprehensible but it won't detract too much.

My only fear is that till this juncture it feels like scene-setting. I genuinely hope there are no ghastly reveals further on. I kinda love the lightness .

Surprisingly finding this an enjoyable and quick read.

Unfortunately though, I find Ella's environment suffocating and terrifying. Threatened with being thrown into an institution and basically having no control or say in your life.

The characters are over the top in their own ways, but I guess that is the nature of a contemporised retelling of a fairytale.

A whole book about a cook's emotions being ingredients in food. "The special ingredient is love." turned into a novel. Alrighty then.

This is either the most depressing book I have ever read, or I don't get it AT ALL. I'm not sure what the emotional food and furniture are supposed to signify as motifs, but I am guessing they are written as fact but meant to be allegories. I feel like I am not smart enough to understand this book, and that is absolutely ok with me.

Still not sure what I am reading exactly. Story has barely moved at all.

Not sure why I am reading this. The title grabbed my attention, but thus far there is a deep melancholy in the story. The sadness of sameness and unfulfilled potential reverberates in every paragraph.

I cannot really empathise, because having struggled in life, one learns to appreciate whatever one has—even if it isn't exactly what one wants.

Took a surprising turn for the poignant. I'd never read Ruskin Bond before this year, and wasn't unduly impressed with the previous works, but this one is different.

Everyone is gorgeous in this book. Except for the Mesopotamian magicians. EVERYONE.

Character development is completely absent as is depth and motivation.

While browsing ebooks, sometimes one skips over the genre of the book and makes an instant judgement based on the title. This book has appeared in my ebook library many times, and I always thought it a Dr. Seuss-style book. Obviously I couldn't have been more wrong.

I wanted a non-fiction "heavy" read after all the light stuff I had been grazing. This book is profoundly existential, and just the right sort of heavy.

Absolutely ghastly writing. I genuinely hope the story becomes more interesting, because Vidyut the paragon is a lacklustre character from the get go.

Perhaps I'm being hasty in judging this book from its first 27 pages, but ye gods the writing is terrible.

A surprisingly quick read. Mostly anecdotal, with minimal insights on how to harness the power of decentralised organisations. But an interesting read nevertheless. Especially enjoyed the section on catalysts.

Dan Brown's books always give me FOMO for fine art. I spend so much of my time during reads to search for the statuary and paintings described therein.

Engrossing story. It is like an OG mockumentary. It is very primal and raw in content though, and I think it is a cultural disconnect that makes me feel uncomfortable reading it. But it is the discomfort of learning, not of revulsion. So that's ok.

This is the sort of book that one stays up reading all night, for as many nights as it takes to race to the last word. However, one has deadlines and one has to pretend to be a responsible adult, even if it is with tremendous reluctance.

Reading Brandon Sanderson means making a leap of faith that at some point you will understand the magic system you're reading out. Because, even though this is the 5th Cosmere book I'm reading, it is the 3rd magic system!
