For some reason Goodreads.com thinks this book only has 1 page.

I read this years ago, and remember enjoying it a lot. It's written by a futurist.

About half way though, and past the place where I stopped listening to the audio version.

This is really, really good fun.

I tried this as an audiobook, and it wasn't working for me. So I'm starting again with a paper book.

Something happened in chapter 20! Then in chapter 21 it goes back to recaps, talking, and saying what people plan to do before the next chapter. 22 and 23 the same.

Oof. Chapter begins with someone thinking back over what happened since last chapter. Then there is conversation about it. Then they decide what they will do next. REPEAT FOR EVERY CHAPTER.

You guys could have warned me before I started.

Oh boy.

Sprinkles!

So when is the story going to kick in?

I've read this before, I know, but I don't remember much about it. Except the sprinkles.

Finally getting started again on this after reading A Fire Upon The Deep and some other novels in between.

Read a lot of this on the plane yesterday. Actually all of it, and a bit of the second part, but I'll review it all together as one book, like the ebook.

Oh, I see where this is going. Or at least the next bit of the path. Should be fun!

Actually, I'm not sure how far I am into the book. The copyright notices and other crap at the start took ages to page through on the ebook version, so it looks like I'm 15% of the way through already.

Good listening for long journeys. Why is it that every long journey in every novel is interrupted by a dramatic side-adventure? That rarely happens to me in real life.

Rocking through this one pretty quickly. It's handy that I've read it twice before.

This is really very good!

I've decided to catch up on this again before getting into the meat of Children of the Sky. I've read it twice before, but now this is a good excuse to listen to it as an audiobook, and a good time to review it on the SFBRP.

Over half way through, and there has been more impressive ideas than most other science fiction novels I've read.

This is really good! The author is consistently about four steps ahead of me, which is very satisfying to read.

Some books I read to help me fall asleep. This one is making me stay awake way too late.

Big! I like big!

Do you use Python? We're all using Java and C++. But check out those old guys using Assembly language!

Finally some action!

I'm mostly reading this to get over jet lag, to make me fall asleep more quickly. Is that a bad thing?

Why is the main drama in this book "powerful, good, stupid people vs powerless, bad, intelligent people"?

Back to it! Hmmm, it seems they've just visited Google HQ.
