Is anyone else's reading suffering BADLY right now? I feel like I can't focus & that makes me so frustrated!

I LOVED Seafire likes YES sisterhood, YES sailing the seas, YES fighting.

But Caledonia is currently getting on my nerves because of her decisions.

She's being selfish and MAKING HASTY AND BAD CHOICES that not only endanger herself but other innocent people and I cannot stand thattttt. I hope she gets some sense knocked into her head.

Honestly, everything Cat Winters writes is genius.

I wasn't as completely IN LOVE with this story, but it was still so good.

Sisters (stronger together, not traditionally strong) + monsters (are they real or in your head? WHO KNOWS) + family trauma/emotional trauma/etc + so much more

as always, Winters astounded me with not only her fantasy writing but her writing in how it explores people and the human mind

Quick pause on this because I need to finish some other library books first haha, BUT

I'm really liking the gaming aspect with its card-based strategy AND open world?? And I'm interested to see how the gaming world and the real world are going to collide.

oof I am on a fantasy kick. there was quite a while where I was really bored with fantasy (for some reason...I guess I was reading the wrong books at the wrong time).

but fantasy has become one of my favorite genres and the Merciful Crow is shaping up to be another amazing read.

i have enjoyed reading this book so much. not only does it have twists and turns of the mc trying to figure herself out and where she comes from and the secrets of her caretaker... she is witty and smart & comes up with d*mn good puns.

additionally, the womens rights snippets & tackling important basic rights/issues like that is SO good.

I have heard good things about this book & also the cover is beautiful so I hope it's amazing

I REALLY like this, the mystery is so intriguing.

I think it easily is equal to or even a bit better than Stolen Songbird!

I need to finish this quickly so I can buddy read another book! There isn't enough time in the world 😔

I thought I was way closer to finishing this! WOOP that's what happens when you read on your phone and don't check your status.

Usually I'm not a huge fan of double pov's and definitely usually prefer one over the other but I can honestly say that I love reading in Tristan's pov AND Cecile's pov.

The strategy/mind games/duality of Tristan is rly interesting & Cecile discovering herself & her history & !!!

I've always thought that this book is one of the best out of the Gallagher Girl series.

I mean... that sniper gun assembly scene where Cammie didn't even know she was doing it? Perfection.

Not because that subject matter is particularly nice or anything or because I was like WOW what a bad*ss. but because of the implications of everything in that scene in the context of the greater story. It's just. so well done.

I am so upset because i got 10% Happier a while ago and finally I was ready, I was gonna do it, I was gonna read it. Tonight.

And I. can't. find. it. anywhere.

I'm very intrigued by where this plot is going to go...there's a complicated world so there's lots to keep track of but I think it's gonna be good.

bout to start another fantasy to try to cure this book hangover I have from The Enchantment of Ravens (that good good)

Like times are serious but WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE. The dialogue is so good!

It is a truth universally acknowledged (or it should be) that a man's forearms are the most attractive part of his body. 10/10 relatable

hmmm 😐 i'm not sure if I like this or not.

I'm not one to read dark books in general and this is pretty thriller-esque and written with the pov jumping around in time...

I guess the biggest thing is that it's a completely different writing tone than I was expecting and it threw me off A LOT

ngl I'm kind of getting into this. a lot of kingdom politics and strategical trains of thought, and sleuth work + ninjas.

there's also complicated family relations which is 10/10 relatable, and I'm here thinking how much more difficult it would be to repair any kind of broken relationship in the kinds of situations that Hesina finds herself in.

I'm sorry but the use of terms such as trapezius is definitely going to go over my head.

(according to Google, it's a surface muscle btw...basically the back of your shoulders)

there is a lot of strategizing and planning things going on here. not a bad thing in the least, but it's keeping me on my toes as far as concentrating when reading.

i am v v intrigued by this book for sure.

this book really faces the raw feelings we have so well.

I have never lost someone very close to me, so I can't claim to understand the depth of that anguish. But I understand the anger Rumi feels at the world, the people who should know her and support her the most. how misunderstood, and left out, and different.
