Yay! I finally got to another contemporary romance with POC that I've been eyeing for a while.

This was a v cute read and YES another YA set in college or close to college. Bless 🙏🏼

1) It's written as journal entries, and besides making me remember nothing timeline-wise, I'm not usually a fan of this style

2) I know this is a hs girl's journal but it talks about sex stuff....weirdly? oh "his eyes roamed up & down my body & suddenly I knew the meaning of HORNY"

This book is 👌👌

Not only am I in love with the concept of bonded pairs, good forces, evil forces, good and evil forces. Travels across the lands to fight a cause only to find it may not be as it seemed.

ROMANCE. oh my god. the love story is written perfectly. excuse me as I burrow back into this

with the first book, it was a slow burn to being something I rly enjoyed but man was this book amazing.

THE PLOT TWISTS. THE POWERS. THE THREADS THAT BIND AND ALL THAT OTHER ISH.

yes.

also the creatures and the worlds continue to impress me. the book is so colorful not only in the cities, but in the skins, the languages, the gender/sexual identifiers (am I wording this right?)

I am very intrigued by some of the new characters *wiggles eyebrows*

And as a person who loves trying to read people from their facial cues etc., Aeduan's character gives me life.

I NEED TO FIGURE HIM OUT RN.

My first book of 2019!

I've heard a lot of good things about this series, so when I saw this on sale on Amazon I couldn't resist.

For the first half of the book, I thought the plot dragged on a little, and I didn't really connect to the characters, but now that I've sat down and dedicated time to actually reading steadily for the last half -- I think it's because I kept reading a little here and there, yanking myself in and out of the story, and also -->major mood reader<--

In conclusion, it made me cry, smile, and all in between. :)

oh god this book is a handful (like literally it is HUGE)

I like it pretty good so far, but the problem is that it yanks my attention back and forth between wiki articles and POVs and notes from the team recovering the info and redacted files and it's just too much for your girl.

It's basically the book equivalent of watching Quantico seasons 1 and 2 and while I like those: I can't remember friggin anything

I didn’t like Clara at all at first but sometimes you gotta give people a chance yknow, and so I’m kind of warming up to her. She’s got hidden depths.

I’m on a quest to read as many YA books on anxiety as possible.

Both to see how it’s been tackled and what I do/don’t like about the tackling and to relate to someone who understands 🙂

This isn’t alll research of course but it partially is. Any books that I should tackle after this one?

I will always love these books I think ^^ Although this time, I really identified with Lizzy a lot more than Sophie.

Even though Sophie is the bomb and her sarcasm and quips give me life (so jealous like can I please be able to make funny jokes effortlessly in my conversations).

NOOO THERE ARE TOO MANY QUESTIONS I HAVE.

LIKE I KNOW IZZY AND DEX ARE BABIES BUT I SHIP. BUT ALSO IF BEING FRIENDS FIRST LETS THEM LIKE END UP LONG TERM IN THE FUTURE THEN I AM IN.

Why is Izzy using a rubber band to hold her braid??? I have issue with this. Do real girls actually use rubber bands to fix their hair? That ish is painful.

Momentary pause because I got busy, somewhat disappointed, distracted and um....my library loan ran out. So. Uh. Yeah.

Omg I wrote a lot of things the other day on here that it would not let me publish so I’m not going to write them all out again >.<

I WILL put them in my final thoughts or squish them in somewhere eventually tho.

Short version: it’s really interesting and lush without being too wordy and I like the main characters except for the prince. Something about his whining on his troubles when he has it better than so many

I have done the smart thing and written down relevant names, clans, magi etc. OF WHICH THERE ARE SO MANY* as I go. Phew.

*Disclaimer: I don’t automatically dislike this book because of this. It’s just I expected it, it’s overwhelming as always, and like I said. Very glad I wrote stuff down 😂😂

Okay so the latter part of this book was definitely the most interesting and where I cemented my connection with the characters.

Is it bad that despite enjoying it right now that this book has only made me want to re-read The Emperor's Edge?

2/3 of the way through and it's finally getting interesting again

Okay I wish this book didn't. ...bore me so much of the time? Because I do like the characters and the plot/premise is really intriguing. It just hasn't grabbed me. It's a little slow. ...idk

I've wanted to read this for ages but it's not been quite AS interesting as I hoped. The pacing is a little slow and there's a lot of inner monologue that I haven't decided is rly good or bad yet

I really wanna read My Plain Jane sooon. But should I read Jane Eyre first? Or should I pull a baddie and just read Cliffnotes?

I'm a little willing to read Jane Eyre but it's also pretty long and I am not confident in my abilities to wade through classics in general. 😂
