This governess is like the Tobias Funke of Victorian narrators; every other thing she says is an unintentional double entendre. I will be exactly 0% surprised when she asks Miles if he wants a banger in the mouth.

Someone other than a fellow overwriter needs to tell Henry James's corpse to lay off on the overwriting.

Love me some Mignola art, but why does Commissioner Gordon look animatronic Teddy Roosevelt from the Hall of Presidents?

While many people need to drink to READ my work, this is the first time someone got drunk to REVIEW one of my books: http://willreadforbooze.blogspot.com/.... Thanks, Sam, for the hilarious review! I look forward to others reviewing my books in altered states: high, tripping on acid, naked...though I suspect Paul already covered that last one.

It's not listed on GR, but I just finished reading the first volume of the Tellos Mike Wieringo tribute (https://mikewieringotellostribute.com...). It's missing Ringo's energy and bounce, of course, but it's a moving tribute--and entertaining story--from a collection of awesomely talented people. I hope some you other comic peeps managed to snag a copy. Looking forward to the second volume...

Is it possible that there will be some The Camelot Shadow-related news coming soon? Is it possible that such news will relate to a NEW story featuring a beloved character? Is it possible that I am a ginormous tease? And, is it possible that I've finally mastered how to select the perfect watermelon such that I get a juicy, succulent taste treat every time??

The answer in all cases, dear readers, is yes.

This has nothing to do with the book, but it's amazing how much one's alcohol tolerance diminishes when one rarely drinks. And high fives for me for spelling most of these words forestry whilst pifflicated. Expect forestry. Because that should be "correctly." I blame autocorrect. And alcohol.

...and there goes Bane breaking Batman's back (the alliterative opportunities are overwhelming). Does Bane call that move "Brokebat Mountain?"

I can see why "the straw that broke the camel's back" hasn't been replaced by "the steroid-enhanced psychopath that broke the Batman's back" -- that's just a mouthful (that's what she said?).

(Reminder: it's not a spoiler if it's on the freaking cover of the collection.)

This is a delightful read thus far (both in spite and because of its utter Ninetiesness), but I'm perplexed as to why whatever is ailing Batman is so vaguely stated. Totally fine if he doesn't know what's wrong, but it's completely unclear how serious it is. Initially, it seems like he's got a cold (have some soup and sack up, Bruce), but later it's like he's got Ebola. Or rickets. Give me some context, people!

It's weird how early-90s comics have a very distinct look/feel/tone to them, though I guess that's true of every decade/part of a decade for comics (if only because of the ever-progressive improvements in coloring and printing technology)...still, admitting publicly to reading this is a little bit like slipping on an old pair of underwear full of holes--super comfortable, but I'm afraid I might be exposing myself.
