On the plus side, we would have learned some awesome dwarvish curse words.

If this is truly to be the final Drizzt book, let it be a worthy conclusion to a 30-book series I've been reading over the course of nearly 25 years...

Fantasy reading friends: I'm looking for good fantasy review sites to submit The Chronicle of Heloise & Grimple to...any suggestions? Looking for sites that will review indie authors, of course. Recommendations welcome and appreciated!

It's really fun watching the evolution of Dr. Strange as this non-descript character intended to fill out pages at the back of book that needed extra content into a fully realized and fleshed out entity of his own, with his own mythos/rogues gallery/etc. And, Ditko's art evolves wonderfully in lockstep.

If this is, indeed, our last go-round with the Brothers Cabal, let it be worthy of their combined...ah, screw it; just let it be replete with dryly subversive humor.

Rapidly approaching the climax...

It might have been because I was falling asleep as I was reading, but I have no idea why you just freaked out, Emilia. Deep breaths, a Xanax, and a shot of whisky and you'll be good to go.

C'mon, Chad...even I saw that one coming, and I'm only vaguely aware that today is Thursday.

That was a nifty feat of narrative prestidigitation, getting us to assume we knew the narrator's identity without actually identifying him...and then flipping that assumption on its head with one well-placed clue. Well played, Mr. Yates.

I really hope that, someday, I can pull off being the old guy who nods off in the corner while younger, more vigorous people get things done, and that those young people will still, out of deference to my legendary global fame, at least ask my opinion, even if they have no intention of actually paying attention to what I say.

This totally reads like it was written in the 80s (which it was). I say that neither in praise nor pejoratively; just a simple observation.

Liked, but didn't love, the first go-round...let's see how we do with book two, which numerous GR friends have suggested is a stronger story...
