Remind me never to get stuck in a canyon in the desert in the middle of a flash flood, particularly when "corpse powder" is involved.

Even when they're horrific, Victorian crimes always seem so civilized. It's like some dude can rip someone open stem to stern with a hacksaw, but he'll be wearing a top hat and tails whilst doing so. Pip, pip.

For some reason, I love the idea of a toothless, bald, on-the-verge-of senile John Adams stealing out under the cover of darkness at 4 AM so he doesn't have to stick around to watch Jefferson's inauguration. Going out with dignity is overrated.

The tone of this really took a turn somewhere along the way...

I can't decide if it's distressing, comforting, or arousing that electoral politics in 1800 looked pretty much exactly the same as they do in 2016,

Really hoping that it's not arousing, though--I know there's a website devoted to everything, but I'd be hard pressed to find erotica based on Hamilton and Aaron Burr delivering polemical screeds on dirty Manhattan street corners.
