This main character is a real asshole. He's a delight.

i know I'm biased because it's the story that got me into comics, but the Dark Phoenix Saga gets me every time, dammit. That's some great character building and storytelling right there.

If I had a shardblade, I would totally do that trick where I made it look like it was going in one of my ears before I pulled it out the other. Because that would clearly be its highest and best use.

Embarking on a 7-day Disney cruise, so I will see all you lovely GR peeps in a week. If I don’t come back, please 1) avenge my death by killing Goofy and 2) make The Camelot Shadow a posthumous #1 NYT bestseller.

Surest sign of the apocalypse: according to Kindle Unlimited reports, someone new has read Water for Alien Were-Dinos (or E.T., the Extra Tentacle) every day in 2018 so far. I guess it's going to be that kind of year.

I really hope that if I’m ever on a suicide mission (which, let’s face it, I hope I’m not, because I’ve got stuff to do the next day), I can work a lot of academic and philosophical debate into it, because that seems like a reasonable approach.

Look, I love Sanderson, and he's amazing, and this book is good, but we really might need to do an editorial intervention here...this is a good 1200 page book that could be an amazing 900 page book...

2018: The Year of Cheesecalibur!

This book is like eating a bag of pretzels that has a few chocolate-covered ones mixed in; you're munching away, and it's fine but not really remarkable, and then BAM. You bite down on some chocolate and you're like, "Whoa! What was that? Also, can I have more?" But then you just have to eat some more regular pretzels for a while.

It's official: watching the Sherlock "Abominable Bride" episode is a new Christmas tradition.
