Finished Mat’s POV section. Was a bit more meandering than I would’ve liked tbh. But decent.

Not to the halfway point like I hoped to be by now. And probs won’t make much progress over the upcoming week. I’d suppose only reaching 50% next Wednesday because of a trip!

Been slow about updating, and less on top of reading because of a copy edit project. Perrin/Zarine chapters were solid enough; Mat chapters have been slower than I'd like.

First three chapter down, rather quickly actually. A lot of political revelations here with the White Tower and everything I find super interesting given obviously what happened right at the end of CoT.

Excited to continue!

Longest Prologue of the series finally done. Read like 2/5 of it a couple weeks ago, finally read the rest this morning. Been a crazy (bad) reading year for me lol

But the Prologue was pretty solid. Looking forward to continuing so I can be done with RJ's output in the series by December.

Total guess at my approximate percentage at this point. Only a few chapters left. Like 30 pages, plus maybe a dozen-ish pages of back matter I haven’t tackled? So really my page count throughout this whole thing has been an underestimate lol.

Either way. What a journey this has been so far. Just one final stretch for tomorrow.

Slowly but surely getting there. Chapters 15-16 definitely seemed a bit of a bridge, while also having some big L O R E implications of the house. So that’s neat!

Would read chapter 17 this morning too (I technically have time), but I have a work project I need to prioritize at the moment, so I’m sticking to the original plan. 17-19 tomorrow, then 20-23 the day after :D

Kinda surprised there was such a huge climactic sequence here (Chapters 13-14), tho it does make sense. It almost reminds me of how surprised I was by how quickly things got out of proportion early in the book too.

Well, 15-16 tomorrow, 17-19 the day after. Looking forward to continuing.

Had a few days without time for reading unfortunately. But Chapters 11-12 were good! Definitely still highly enjoying this experience.

All things going optimally, I plan to read Ch. 13-14 tomorrow; 15-16 Wednesday; 17-19 Thursday; 20-23 Friday. Then if there’s extraneous material still left (appendix stuff, basically), I’ll do that Saturday and still have time for the 2nd Diary on Sunday. Fingers crossed!

Guesstimating page count given how much random assorted end material has been read by now. Chapter 9 was a fuckin doozy lmao. Chapter 10 was much quicker. 11 looks to be back to “normal” before 12 goes quicker again. We’ll see.

Appendices II-C + II-D. Wow.

That was a lot.

Chapter 5 was LOT wow. That was awesome. And it just pointed me to some Appendix stuff that I gotta read tomorrow. Very excited!

Introduction was incredible. First few chapters completely not what I expected (but idk what I expected anyway), and loving every second so far.

Way too early to make the assertion, but the *potential* here is enough to predict an all-timer. We’ll see how it executes!

On the final stretch. I should finish tomorrow, Godwilling.

Much more pleasant reading, plowed through like 74% of Part II in less than a week. That’s weird.

My God today’s reading was so freaking good dude. Actually incredible stuff.

I confess today’s reading was largely more of the tedious variety that Part I often featured. I hope that turns around again.

In short, Part II is a lot better so far than Part I was. The things it is trying to do are clicking much better into place.

So far, Part II has been more consistently enjoyable than Part I!

Part II has started notably more meta than the previous! I find the meta angle amusing in a way that clicks, so I wonder if that will remain the case or not.

Okay after several tough days and in the midst of recovering from surgery, what should have taken 1 day (Thursday) to finish this book, turned out being…4 extra days.

Anticlimactic ending, as anticipated. There have been worse, but still not great. That’s a general opinion of the book ig. Full review to come if ever I can manage to write *any* again lol

Was update my progress from yesterday with today’s when I finished.

I have not read today and will not. Surgery tomorrow will prevent me reading then either. So it’ll be a couple days before I get to the last 3 chapters.

Got the extra White Tower POV’s and Rand/Cadsuane POV’s done.

Honestly these plots have so much political momentum and ramification that Elayne’s plotline just doesn’t. Really enjoying the back half of this book so far.

Read all of this 5-chapter Egwene POV today. Massive. Best stuff of the book so far for sure. Been long overdue too since the POV hadn’t existed for 2 books’ worth if time prior (middle of PoD) 😂

Elayne section done. Not terrible. There’s not enough tension in the politics to be *great*, but it’s not bad.

Next up is Egwene, who I’m actually excited to read about. I’ve been wanting more of her POV for the last 2 whole books basically.

Perrin/Zarine stuff wasn’t too awful either. Kinda crazy to be over a third of the way through and so little of actual consequence to gave occurred though lmao

Chapters 1-4 weren’t too bad

Very long Prologue, but this one actually felt entirely like Prologue material, so that’s good! Most of the scenes were a little longer than necessary, especially the last one (20 pages where it could have been sub-15). But overall a decently solid Prologue.

Got my expectations in check for everything else tho.

This book is just so much after having read through Shadows Upon Time. It's actually insane how much more meat there is. Somehow there's *so much more* than there *already was*.

Inching my way closer to the end.

For now I have Howling Dark to finish this weekend, and then it’s on to a Wheel of Time book next week!
