Honestly, I'm not quite sure at the moment. :P

After hoping to get my hands on this book for months, I can finally start reading. EEK! I'm so excited!

There are definitely some quote-worthy lines in this book.

Making steady progress after reading this book for four months...

In all, there are a lot of solid ideas in this book, some of which I find myself agreeing with. For example, if one focuses too much on education, they are in danger of losing balance with other things in life that SHOULD be appreciated and recognized—like God, nature, and people.

Overall, this book is making me think, so that's good, I suppose. :)

Within the first 24 pages of this book, this pantser has been convinced to outline. ;)

I'm not going to say anything here, simply because I'm not sure of my thoughts at the moment, but a review will come. ;)

So far, it's been pretty fluffy and light, so not at all as I remember from my first read as a...ten-year-old?

Somehow, this book is helping me find hidden meanings in dialogue, intentionally or not.

Interesting so far. The first chapter has inspired me to carry around a dialogue notebook now, so I suppose it has done its job. XD

The more I read Shards of Sky, the more I see myself in Jenn, and the more I see my brother in Aryon. It's quite...interesting, to say the least.

"Her rebelliousness crumbled and she sucked in a breath,
then let it out slowly.
Slowly.
She looked up at the sky, the sea of endless bright blue.
Somewhere out there was her Dad. Her Dad. Not any other
girl’s—but hers."

This is probably one of my favorite scenes...but Jenn...*sighs* She totally doesn't know what's coming.

"...and then giving up even that tenuous hold of safety and of substance, left in me a feeling of anticipation mixed with dread, of confidence restrained by caution, of courage salted through with fear." (page 255)

This. Now this is description I can appreciate. Beautiful. :)

I mean...what can I say? I'm reading it for an assignment. 😅
All jokes aside, though, there are some interesting parts, but I just feel like the overall writing style is just a bit too slow for me.

Hmm. Quite interesting so far. I can't say I'm quite sure everything is Biblically sound, but the story itself is full of quote-worthy imagery and emotions.

I'm ready for a re-read. The main thing I'll have in mind is whether this book is Biblically accurate or not. We shall see. ;)

Seriously. This book just keeps getting better and better.

I'm still trying to make up my mind whether or not Lennox is a relatable character...
