This one is so good! I'm enjoying it immensely,

I choose the audio version of this one because Will narrates it himself. Although the book has been entertaining (and I understand the Oscar slap much better - I don't justify it, just understand Will's background better), there's an overabundance of profanity that's bugging me. I didn't expect that because his music isn't profanity-laced. When will people realize profanity loses all power when it's used too often?

Raw and unflinching, I had no idea what Sally Field's life was like. Fascinating.

So many interesting things I didn't know.

It's dragging a bit.

Started out disturbing (his parents have some issues) then became entertaining.

Interesting every time I pick it up, but not interesting enough that I'm excited to pick it up. I just got to Lee accepting the command of the Provincial Army, though, so hopefully we'll get some action and things will pick up soon. So far it's all just inside their heads exploring their feelings without anything really happening.

More practical advice would be appreciated.

So far so good, nothing revolutionary, but good. Definitely a lot of unnecessary profanity (which I expected, given the title).

This one started out so much like Camus' L'Etranger that I almost put it down. But, I was on my lunch break and didn't have anything else to read with me, so I kept on going. It hasn't really gotten a lot better. Sigh.

Fascinating man, I'm learning so much not just about him, but also about the Church.

This book is making me incredibly uncomfortable. But, it's probably in a good "you should think about these things" way.

Lots of liberties taken with the stories from the Bible, and although I knew before starting the book that such would be the case, I still find it jarring. Also, I'm reminded how much it sucked to be a woman in ancient times.

At first I was just horrified at all these women suffered. Now I'm beyond livid at the men who knowingly put them through the suffering then gaslighted them about it.

So far this really has a HP vibe to it - lots of similarities, but it's not quite reaching that level. I'm reserving judgement...

This one is part of the Audiobooksync.com free summer reading program and so far it's been interesting.

I love Jeff Zentner's writing.

This book is actually making me angry enough that it's been hard to read it. I find myself wanting to put it down constantly and turn away from the trauma and injustice. I recognize that it's my privilege that let's me put it down. POC live this reality every day.

Interesting enough to keep going, but not terribly compelling yet.

Reading again in preparation to host a book club at work.

What this gentleman has accomplished is amazing, but so far he's coming off as a pretty selfish guy (who's very aware that he's selfish). He's about to start the big Transcon run.

Rereading for a book club I'm hosting for kids as part of my library's Summer Reading Program.

So far this isn't suspenseful at all, it's just needlessly wordy! Ugh. I've invested over 9 hours of listening time so far, so I hate to give up. But, I'm bored out of my mind. Life is too short.

Uneven so far, but most short story collections are. my favorite so far is The Night Things Changed by Dana Cameron. I've never read any of her stuff before, I'll have to check some of it out.

I really miss Jim Dale, this narrator is just not as good with doing different voices and I absolutely HATE how he makes Hagrid sound like a mentally disabled Andre the Giant. Ugh.

I love both the original book (I've read it in English and French) and Jim Dale's English narration so when I saw this in French on my library's Overdrive audio books I just had to give it a try. (Also, I just finished the unabridged Les Mis and really need some familiar brain candy).
