Caroline How do you read so fast?

message 2: by Megan (new)

Megan Baxter I always attribute it to growing up without a TV. :)

It's also lots and lots of practice. :) People always ask me how I can walk while reading, and I attribute it to having been doing it for 30 years. :)

Now walking and reading, I admit takes a good deal of practice. One of my students does it everyday, but she walks as slow as humanly possible xD

I`ve had people tell me it`s practice to read faster, but I`ve been reading at about the same speed for at least the last ten years :\

Megan Baxter I don't have any practical advice, unfortunately, since reading fast was never something I consciously paid attention to.

I have mostly stopped reading while walking, but I used to be very good at it indeed. I would walk normal speed, and used to have fun doing it in a crowded place like a mall, where I would step around people at the last minute. I have good peripheral vision!
