The day she took the exam, her arms were covered with burn scars.
I'm absolutely loving this story so far. The characterization of Rin has been great. She is clearly extremely determined and stubborn by nature. She has allowed herself not only to dream, but to also work really hard to achieve that dream. This test will determine her life.
I also really like the inclusion of her adoptive parents as opium dealers. Makes for an interesting background.. if she winds up not making it into that one school she should have stolen small amounts of opium over two years to save money for a different school. But i guess it's all or nothing now.
