Alex sacrificed so much so they could be together..and the she goes with another guy? arghhhh...sorry, get like this everytime there is a love triangle.. When I first read about Julian I was begging Lena not to fall in love with him and so she did.. and btw I know this is very unlikely but I think it would be awesome if Julian and Hana fell in love..but Hana is cured and far away so that wont happen..
the first book i was totally in love with alex but then i read the second book which totally changed my mind now im team julian
I turned unnaturally gay and sissy over alex and lena, but somehow julian seems like the perfect match "emotionally" for lena at this point where everything has changed and will continue to change
Still Alex..but on the other hand who says that Alex will take her back? I mean like he seemed pretty ''cold'' when he said at the end ''Don't believe her''..and he did spend a year in the Crypts for Lena..I don't know..really..lets just wait for the sequel won't we..
Alex!!! My friend Bailey told me to hurry up and read this and I was like okay... And I read it and was so surprised at the ending. We ranted about it in orchestra the next day. I knew she would do this. How could she just kill Alex? But I am loyal to him because he was first. :)

JUUUULLLLLIIIIIAAAAAAANNNNNNN ALLLLL THHHHEEEEE WAAAAAYYYYY . I didn't like alex from the first book . I don't know why but he just didn't grow up on me even at the ending of delirium i didn't die for him , but julian I loved him since lena entered the stadium and found him looking at those pictures and when he was about to get him procedure i almost cried .
I am absolutely, unequivocally rooting for Julian. Julian, having been trained his entire life that he never falls in love with a girl or he'll be automatically killed, is ingrained within him, and nevertheless he falls in love with Lena. Alex was sneaking inbetween the wilds to the real world. There was nothing at stake for him when it came to falling in love with her except possibly losing her, because I feel like he was pretty nervous about getting killed through the entirety of the first book. It was just an additional layer to his lasagna of rebellion- big whoop for him. Julian was - is - the face of the DFA, which strives to prevent this from happening and which Julian had held his virtually religious undying faith in, and yet, he made the unthinkable sacrifice just to love Lena. If their backgrounds were the same, I'd root for Alex, but under these circumstances, Julian's got my vote.

I think Julian because Alex probably has changed since she last saw him and he probably hates her for moving on. Though I like both of them Julian is now the closer of the two boys.

i am preparing for the worst you guys. i do not want to get my hopes up because then for sure i will cry! i'm setting my mind up that she's staying with Julian and that Alex for sure dies that way if it doesn't happen i would be overjoyed that i was in fact wrong lol i get all sad just thinking about all these possibilities. it is quite depressing.
Julian! My only problem with the first book was that Alex and Lena were missing all the angst and longing. They were totally boring to me as a couple. Julian and Lena are more complicated and the simple fact that Lena's feelings for Julian are confusing makes it oh so good. Alex is too obvious as a leading man...obvious equals predictable and blah in my reading world. Julian has all kinds of flaws and that just makes him endearing and REAL. I wasn't even going to read the second book because I didn't really care about what happened to Alex and Lena, but now I want to keep reading because of Julian.

ALEX!!!!!! he rescued her and faught for her was tortured for her and came back for her. and now shes in love with someone else???!!!!! I understand that she thought he was dead but still it makes me sad! I am biting my nails until feb!!
Alex!!I fell in love with him in the first book,and was wandering for days if he was alive. Julian might be a nice guy, but in my opinion, he see kinda weak. He is like that guy in movies who has a bunch of allergies, and has to always carry his asthma inhaler around. Lena just fell in love with him because of how much time she had to spend with him. But, Alex is strong. Lena sincerely loves him, and she needs a guy who is strong. It seems like if she chooses Julian, she will be the teacher. He will always depend on her. Lena needs a guy to be the teacher, someone to show her the way. Also, she saw Julian in Alex. She simply fell in love with him because she needed to forget about Alex. Now that she has Alex, she will loose her feelings for Julian. Unless, being imprisoned has changed Alex so much that she is unable to love the "new" him. Team Alex!!!
omg i love your review and cracked up!! thats exactly my take- Alex is a man and Julian (just like his name)seems week. this is a love to hate book.I am in love with this book and have read the last 3 pages like 4 times and think about the ending all the time!! I HATE how it ended and kept reading it wondering when he was going to come back the frustration was almost like New Moon but so much better!!

I totally think that Lena should end up with Alex. He was the guy that saved her from becoming a loveless zombie and maybe, just maybe it's time for her to save him. Julian is new to this world of love and compassion and it would be sad to see Lena leave him but I think in the end the biggest sacrifice was the one Alex made for Lena and a sacrifice like that cannot be forgotten. Something very dramatic is uprising in the 3rd book and I'm intrigued to know what Lauren has planned.
I'm undecided. I'm love them both. Have to wait until the next book comes out.
I think she's going to fall for Alex again, but Alex is going to be bitter from seeing her with Julian, after he nearly died to free her. He's also going to be different because of what he went through. I don't think Lena is in love with Julian. She was thrown together with him, was grieving for Alex, and he reached out to her. She kept thinking of Alex every time she was affectionate with Julian. I'm not so sure Alex is going to take Lena back right away, and she is no longer the naive little girl he first met. It's going to be interesting to see what happens between all of them.
I fell in love with Julian too, so I really hope she ends up with him. In the first book at least IMHO, Alex felt more like he could be a really good friend or a brother. There just wasn't the same Chemistry or mad attraction, like there was with Julian. There was also more time spent getting to know the two characters, so it just seems more natural that Lena and Julian end up together. But February 2013???? NO! That is WAY TOO LONG to wait. :)

When I first started the book (reluctantly I shall say), I did not expect another male protagonist to cross paths with Lena, nor did I thought I will like him. But as the story progresses (and Pandemonium was so much better than Delirium), I found myself liking Julian. He was naive at first, but he was not weak nor a coward. At the end my insides were all warm and fuzzy at the reunion of the couple. Until Alex, the boy brought back from death, showed up. Don't get me wrong, I like Alex too. The cliff hanger left me impatient for Requiem because now that there is clearly a love triangle going on and I'm rooting for both boys (can't choose!) but I would prefer Julian. Maybe because I have a thing for dark-haired blue-eyed guys ha ha!
Alex! He and Lena are perfect for each other!

And we cannot also deny the fact that it isnt Lena's fault to fall for another person thinking Alex was already dead.
too bad we have to wait another year before the release of the third book and its a matter of choice really between the person who sacrificed himself just to save you or the one you almost sacrificed yourself for. :D

JULIAN!! my goodness. first off i somehow always knew that Alex was still alive, and had really liked him in the first book. However i soon found out that i liked Julian more than Alex. Besides i don't think it's possible that Lena and Alex will get back together after hearing Alex at the end of the book.

I hate that she brought in another love interest. When Julian told Lena that they saved eachother in this book at the homestead I wanted to puke . Julian didn't save her ALEX did when he showed her about love and friendship and when he SACRIFICED himself in order to save her...that's what love is protecting those you care most about. I hat the fact that even after Alex sacrificed himself Lena never thought to go back for him to be sure she was weak but Alex made her strong in the first book but she went after Julian even though she barely freaking knew the kid..I would be pissed just like Alex was and I hope that he stays mad at Lena in the third book and she wants him back but he wants nothing to do with her she doesn't deserve him

Throughout reading the entire book, since Julian's appearance, I was just like "DO NOT GO THERE, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT" but of course the author just had to make it a love triangle. It was totally predictable in that way, and I thought I could handle it...BUT I AM TOTALLY TEAM JULIAN.Julian just felt more like a real person than Alex did to me. Don't get me wrong, I loved Alex, but Julian is a friend for Lena. Yes, they were trapped together and a relationship was almost imposed on them (also expected because Raven and Tack set them up), but you can't deny that their feelings were genuine.
Alex and Lena are both different people now, and it's only natural that they move on with their lives. It's going to be super ugly in Requiem, but I cannot wait to find out what happens. But I'm gonna cry for Julian so hard if the author puts Alex with Lena together again.
Alex to the old Lena is like the new Lena to Julian. It's interesting what the author did with the role reversal, but I love it and I love Julian. To me he's portrayed more as a real person that goes through struggles and had to face all these things without being able to express any of that pain. Alex is different and the oppression that he knows about is only stemmed from his knowledge of freedom.

I love Alex and I hate this love triangle so team Alex.I'm really upset because I think she ends up with Julian based on what Lauren Oliver is saying in interviews.
She says there is no love triangle in the next book and she's upset people are calling it that before they read it.

Alex all the way! i feel like Julian was just filling an empty space that she felt when she thought she lost alex! i dont know how she could have moved on so quickly, it hadent even been a year and shes already with another guy! I hope they didnt cure alex!!!!!

Julian is head over heels in lust (er, I mean love) with Lena! & Alex's eyes are described as cold, and Raven says they messed him up, etc. I HATE this!!! :((( This is really depressing...I wanted Alex so much to be "the one", even though I figured L.Oliver wouldn't follow what other authors do and end Lena up with her first love >.< I will be devastated come the last book :,,(

I was really upset when I read this that I started looking for interviews and it's true...right now all I want is for Alex to end up good...not dead or crazy because I will hate the book if that happens...But deep down I'm still hoping Lena ends up with Alex :(

I know it's terrible :( she's not only saying these things in interviews but to fans at book signings as well. I read on Fanforum she told a fan she thinks people really like Julian. I think she's trying to prepare fans for an ending most probably don't want. She's just going to ruin the series for a lot of fans. Either Lena ends up alone or with Julian. Since the book is about love I doubt she will end up alone so its probably going to be Lena and Julian since there is no love triangle according to Lauern Oliver.
I don't see any hope for Alex and Lena based on what Lauren Oliver is saying.
