Andrew Fish | 12 comments Hi,

My name is Andrew Fish and I'm an author of comic fantasy. My novel, Erasmus Hobart and the Golden Arrow, was published for Kindle last month by Harpercollins' Authonomy imprint.

The book follows the adventures of the eponymous hero, a schoolteacher with a time-travelling privy. Inspired by a school project, he travels back to the Middle Ages to find the truth behind the Robin Hood legend. Naturally, not everything goes to plan: homicidal knights, amorous female outlaws and mischievous squirrels all provide a bar to his progress. Should the book do well, I'm hoping to release further instalments in the series over time (pun not intended).

Jennifer Priester (jenniferpriester) | 32 comments Mortal Realm Witch Learning about Magic by Jennifer Priester

Mine is only available in print as a paperback book. It is the first book in a series. Here is the description that I use to tell people about the book:

This is Book One, Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic. It contains six separate, but connecting, stories, each featuring a different aspect of learning about magic. In Learning About Magic you will meet DWW who is just learning she is a witch and that her dog can talk and he is going to teach her how to use magic but it won't be easy.

Throughout Book One, not only will you learn about DWW, who will tell you her orgin story about becoming a witch and learning about her new powers and responsibilities, and more, but you will get to read stories about DWW from the point of view of her familiar, Trillman, and the Head of the Witches Council, Trom.

In this book DWW will also become a magic teacher to two magical wolf pups, as well as try to stop a warlock from taking over the realms. You will also meet Air Raid, a dragon, and his new friend and witch, Ally. Ally wants Air Raid to be her familiar, but Trom says dragons don't make good familiars. Together Ally and Air Raid will try to prove him wrong.

My book is also for ages 8-adult. On Amazon the look inside feature is available for this book, and more info about this book and the series can be found at www.mortalrealmwitch.com. Book is also avail. at Barnes and Noble online. Also on Amazon and Barnes and Noble is a larger book description. It contains a few spoilers but nothing major, there is still a lot of events in the book that are not mentioned.

Taxed to the Max Taxed to the Max by Cheryl B. Dale

When the tax commissioner is murdered, county officials want to appoint auto tag clerk Corrie Caters to the position. But Corrie knows what's involved: irate customers and a grouchy coworker. No way she'll agree. She isn't crazy.

Until BODIE FAIRHURST, the twerp who jilted her at the altar, shows up. An agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Bodie tells her to refuse the job. He thinks the killer might go after the next tax commissioner.

Like any self-respecting north Georgia woman, Corrie is not going to listen to a sneaky snake-in-the-grass. Besides, everyone knows rumored arsonist and drug dealer Billy Lee Woodhallen did it to keep his property from being sold for unpaid taxes. She takes the job to spite Bodie.

But the snake was right. Billy Lee comes up with an alibi. And he's free to go after her.

Now obtuse deputies guard her 24/7, a state auditor breathes down her neck, and a pothead IT guy is doing heaven knows what to the tax digest she's supposed to submit to the state. Not to mention her coworker snubbing her and the weird tax office customers wanting to do all sorts of illegal things. With this much stress, what's a gal to do?

Time's Twisted Arrow (The Chronos Files, Book 1) by Rysa Walker Time's Twisted Arrow

They weren’t panic attacks. Of that much, Kate is certain, no matter what the shrink said. But it’s even harder to accept the explanation offered by her grandmother—that Kate is reacting to temporal distortions only she can feel, thanks to designer DNA inherited from her time-traveling ancestors. Kate suspects this tale is the result of her grandmother's brain tumor until reality shifts before her very eyes. Her trigonometry teacher morphs into someone else entirely and a stranger sits in her assigned chair, which was empty the second before.

This reality sucks, with the sole exception of meeting Trey, the new guy in her trig seat. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, he doesn't seem to think she's crazy. With Trey's help, Kate learns her grandmother was murdered during research at the 1893 Columbian Exposition. Her mom was never born and her dad is now someone else's dad. Strangers on the Metro blink in and out like fireflies, including a guy with dark, haunted eyes who claims he knew Kate intimately in a reality she can't remember. Then there are the Cyrists, a group that shouldn't even exist, who are planning to launch a very drastic form of environmental defense.

If not for the odd blue medallion, Kate would simply cease to be. And if she cannot learn to use that medallion to prevent her grandmother's murder at the Expo, billions of people will meet an identical fate at the hands of the Cyrists.

With so many lives on the line, Kate has no choice. But changing the timeline is not without cost. Kate will remember the past few months with Trey, but when he looks at her, he'll see a total stranger.

Cruising Through Turbulence: An Inspirational Guide for Your Wealth and Wellbeing in Difficult Economic Times and Beyond

The Story of a Sculptor: Chiseling Out the Elephant

A king was searching for a sculptor who could build incredible statues to beautify the palace. One day as he was passing through the countryside, the king found himself in front of an amazing lifelike statue of an elephant. He had to find its sculptor. After learning where the sculptor lived, the king paid him a visit. When he arrived, the king couldn’t believe his eyes. There were many elephant statues, each one expressing a different action pose. And each statue was carved with such magnificent detail that it could easily be mistaken for a real elephant.
The king had never seen anything like these statues before. He asked the sculptor the secret behind his creating such stunning lifelike works. Offering the king a chair and a drink, the sculptor began to describe his process.
“When I find a large solid piece of granite rock lying lonesome in Nature with no purpose,” said the sculptor, “I have it brought to my compound. For days, I just observe the solid rock. Here it looks even more out of place than where it was in Nature. I observe the rock from every angle. Then slowly, the faint outlines of an elephant in a certain action pose start to appear. Every passing day, these outlines grow stronger and stronger. Then one day, a complete solid image of an elephant is formed. It is only then that I pick up my chisel and hammer.
“I start to chisel away the pieces of the rock while firmly and single-pointedly staying focused on each outline of the elephant. I do not allow anything or anyone to interfere with my single goal. Every single chisel brings me closer to that goal. As I get closer, the keenness to see the elephant firms my resolve to keep chiseling. Then finally, I chisel away the last piece that is not the elephant. After all this, what then must remain has to be the elephant.”
It is the same with your non-material Self that is buried under the massive weight of worldly material entanglements. If you, with single purpose, chisel away the unwanted worldly material weight, then what you experience will be the lightness of your non-material Self.

What do you get when you have a city full of bloodthirsty vampires, a Mayan warrior princess, a drop dead gorgeous vampire boyfriend, a feisty priest, and a resistance fight group that wants to get it on? You get one good paranormal romance!

While the story is descriptive of the jungles of the Yucatan and its inhabitants, you see the relationships of a young woman who is detached from her family and seeks solace in her surrogate mother, her friends and her vampire boyfriend. It is ultimately about a young woman who overcomes adversity on several levels as we see her transform into the heroine and victor over fantastical odds. The jungle comes alive in this tale of good versus the ultimate evil in a time before the Spanish conquest of the Yucatan.

Rupali Rotti | 12 comments I'm giving away my book, The Valentine's Day Clue (Nayak Brothers, #1) by Rupali Rajopadhye Rotti The Valentine's Day Clue, on goodreads from 1st Feb to 28th Feb, 2013. This is the first book in a teen detective thriller series.

Look at what a few readers have to say about it:

"The author has created few characters that are so true to life. The protagonists – the brothers are young and lively. Their aspirations and enthusiasm reminded me of myself at that age (it wasn’t too long ago) very much and that’s what is the USP of this book. Whenever we read a mystery, the protagonist always seems so larger than life either with their detection skills or with their action scenes. I mean if we really had a Poirot, a Sherlock Holmes or a Jack Reacher, then there would be fewer criminals roaming around free. Nayak brothers are not larger than life – in fact they are just amateurs often stumbling on their way. It is their optimistic and ‘never give up’ attitude that makes them so likeable. They grow through their experiences. The plot, in general, is a simple one for hardcore mystery lovers like me, but it was one that an amateur pair could handle." -- Debdatta Dasgupta Sahay

"It takes you to your college days when you dream to pursue your passion as a profession. Here, it’s a story of two young brothers and budding detectives who go through a series of dangerous yet thrilling events while working on their first case ever." -- Sandeep Undale

Sunny Vale considers herself a dog-loving, romance-reading, homebody. But her life goes from dull to deadly when her book club fires her from her own love life and sets her up on six blind dates- one of whom might be with a murderer. More trouble arrives in the dead of night, in the form of Jake Landon, a mysterious stranger, who breaks into her neighbor’s house and possibly her heart. But Jake is packing more than a loaded gun in his well-fitting Levi’s. He brings an arsenal of secrets and plenty of heat to Sunny’s ho-hum summer.

Jake Landon finds himself caught up in the capers of the sexy blonde in the house next door. But he has his own agenda which doesn’t involve playing hero to a curvy second-grade teacher and babysitting her panty-puking puppy. He's got other problems like fiery explosions, a missing person...and a parade of jerks Sunny insists on dating.

Could Sunny’s Mr. Right be right under her nose? Even though Jake is gorgeous, likes her dog, and has abs she can crack an egg on, can she really go out with him if he’s just murdered her next door neighbor?

Margaret Skea | 33 comments Hi Folks,
Just introducing the series of books I'm working on. They span the later years of the 16th c and the early part of the 17th - in Scotland and Ireland mostly, though will stray into Europe from time to time.

The first book Turn of the Tide, published in November 2012, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turn-Tide-Mar... opens with a key event in ‘The Ayrshire Vendetta’ – a long-running feud, notorious in southern Scotland – and focuses on a fictional family trapped within it, with the resultant pressures on family, relationships and personal integrity.

Munro owes allegiance to the Cunninghames and to the Earl of Glencairn. Caught up in the 150-year-old feud between the Cunninghames and the Montgomeries, he escapes the bloody aftermath of an ambush, but he cannot escape the disdain of the wife he sought to protect or his own internal conflict. He battles with his conscience and with divided loyalties - to age-old obligations, to his wife and children, and, most dangerous of all, to a growing friendship with the rival Montgomerie clan. Intervening to diffuse a quarrel that flares between a Cunninghame cousin and Hugh Montgomerie, he succeeds only in antagonizing William, the arrogant and vicious Cunninghame heir. And antagonizing William is a dangerous game to play…

To borrow a phrase from another historical fiction writer, ‘If you can’t find me I’m in the 16th century’ and I’ll be delighted to answer any questions folk have about the period or my writing.
