Lynne North | 2 comments Hi all,
'Caution: Witch in Progress' is a children's humorous fantasy that was launched at Earl's Court Book Fair, April 2013

http://tinyurl.com/ajfwfrh

Gertie Grimthorpe is born into a society of witches and grows up in Vile Vale, but there is something very wrong with her... she is beautiful and couldn't be nasty if she tried. When she finds out that she is to attend a private academy for magical children, Gertie hopes to find her witchy way in the world. With a moat monster suffering from stomach ache, a short-sighted owl familiar and mishaps galore, Gertie's adventures are hilarious and heartwarming. Join Gertie as she struggles with growing up (and longing to grow her first wart), learning magic and working out how to deal with a grumpy enchanted umbrella, named Bat. "What a wonderful read this book is! Fun and laughter from beginning to end. Are we getting anymore 'Gertie' books? Can't wait!" - Amazon Review

Hi! Here's my blurb and link for my Kindle book, Killing Mohammed. Thanks for taking a look.
http://www.amazon.com/Killing-Mohamme...

The United States government has determined that certain reserve personnel will remain on U.S soil to protect the homeland. Two inept Air National Guardsman, along with their Machiavellian, charismatic counterpart, Jack Hawkins, are three of the left behind. After a murder on the base they are protecting occurs, the self-absorbed Hawkins concocts a plot that is depraved and vicious, but brilliantly plays into the American psyche of fear. Hawkins kidnaps a “terrorist” and brings him onto the base in an effort to cover up the murder and portray himself as a hero of the Republic.

My thirty-thousand word novella, Killing Mohammed, is a dark comedy of our times. It imagines a very near future where the draft has been reinstated to fight the omnipresent threat of terrorism, and how government sanctioned fear, organized religion, power, and sex bleeds into society and warps our perceptions of right and wrong.

Hi! Here's a link and blurb for my Kindle book, A White Trash Tragedy. Thanks for taking a look!
http://www.amazon.com/A-White-Trash-T...
tragedy_coverfiver
I used to be a News Director for a tiny radio station in small town Indiana, a small fish in a small pond. My career was so obscure that I was once a celebrity waiter at a charitable event and nobody recognized me; school crossing guards were more known than I was. My newscasts were repeatedly drowned out by fire engine sirens across the street conducting their daily tests, and my boss once made me fake being at the scene of a traffic accident to liven things up. But my career was not boring. Indeed, Consider the deranged person who kidnapped a girl and chained her in an attic for months before she was found, or the bizzaro who stole women’s keys and snuck into their homes and did nasty things to their personal items. Both of these stories I covered and both are fictionalized in my book.

A White Trash Tragedy is written with the unwavering voice of a cynic who loves to make fun of the silly and the vain. It will make you laugh.

Hi! Here's a link and a blurb for my Kindle ebook, A Pissy Fit of Evil!
Thans for taking a look!

Unfortunately, his change also altered his appearance, making him look and sound exactly like Adolph Hitler, except taller!
After the tabloids rename him Chip Hitler (as in chip off the ol’block) he is framed by the hero Moses who sends him into an inter-dimensional prison.
But Chip Hitler has escaped, and he wants vengeance on a world that has forced him into evil madness.
Now, a team of metas formed from the dregs of the hero community have banded together as The Alpha Dogs of Righteousness! Edward Farber (edfarber) | 11 comments I'm happy to announce that my newest book, Echoes of Clara Avenue is now out and available on Amazon Kindle. It's a collection of short stories, some of which were previously published in literary magazines. Here's an excerpt from the intro:

The houses along Clara Avenue are mostly empty now. For those that remain, time has done a thorough wrecking job, and a once lively neighborhood has decayed into empty, ghostly hulks. Yet, if you walk slowly along those cracked, concrete sidewalks and listen with your imagination, you might pick up faint echoes of laughter and tears—the music of life—that once filled each and every house. The stories in this volume are part of Clara Avenue’s history, stories as diverse as the people who moved into the houses and flats, played out a portion of their lives there, and moved away—a constant stream emulating the continuum of life itself.

You can read one of the stories, Papa's House, on my website: www.farberart.com on the Books and Stories section.

I'd appreciate a look at my blog, too, to let me know if I'm on the right track as a novice book marketer. Thanks

Stacy | 2 comments Hi everyone, I would like to add my first book to this bookshelf. It is a Kindle edition YA/Teen paranormal romance.

The Birdcatcher is set aboard a steamship bound for America in 1865.

Below is the synopsis, and thanks for looking.

With a heavy heart, sixteen-year old Alice Davison boards a transatlantic steamship heading toward an unknown life in post-Civil War America. This dread soon blossoms into terror when she senses that there is someone, or something, lurking in the dark crevices of the ship. When a new friend mysteriously dies, Alice finds that her worst fears have come true: she and the other passengers are trapped on board with a creature straight out of a Gothic novel. Vampires, it seems, are all too real.

Unfortunately, danger doesn't only prowl in the dark bowels of the ship. It also thrives in the sparkling rooms of first class and even hides in the murky waters of the Atlantic. And when she finds herself ensnared by a first-class passenger, enchanting Sir Henry Falkner, she can't even be sure whether he is her suitor or her enemy.

To The Survivors by Philip G. Henley

by

Philip G. Henley

An apocalypse threatens human kind. A highly infectious lethal genetic virus is detected that attacks mankind and mammals. The authorities struggle to find a cure, but have to plan for the worst. How many will survive, and how will they survive? What will the survivors have to do? Can they rebuild society? How do lonely and grief stricken survivors cope. Can they work together to find food and water?

This is not horror genre and there are no zombies, and no asteroids, so if you prefer these types of post apocalyptic scenarios, look elsewhere. This is a story about surviving.

The book contains violence, death and some sexual scenes that some readers may find disturbing.

The Quest of the Unaligned: YA fantasy.

The novel has received all 5-star reviews on Amazon.com, and is described as a "fast-paced adventure story," and a "delightful novel" with a "quirky sense of humor, endearing supporting characters, and sweet love story."

As a Goodreads reader put it, "If you enjoy a good fantasy with dragons, monarchies, magic, and did I mention hover cars? Yes, there is also a futuresque feel to this story! I'm telling you it is worth the read."

Official description:

In the city of Tonzimmel, where hover-cars zip over anonymous crowds, contracts are king, and education is everything, Alaric has worked hard to make a decent life for himself. As a level nine security chief, he needs no one and nothing, and is in control of his fate. Or so he thinks.

When a stranger from neighboring Cadaeren suddenly appears, however, babbling of magic, quests, and long-lost princes, Alaric finds himself contractually obligated to undertake a journey that his training hasn’t prepared him for: the Quest of the Unaligned. Accompanied by Laeshana, a Cadaerian native who has reasons of her own for helping him on his quest, Alaric is soon plunged into a perilous adventure that will force him to confront a seemingly impossible truth and embrace his destiny, even as the fate of Cadaeren hangs in the balance.

Robin Hood was a crook!

But was his "rob the rich and give to the poor" legend anything more than good PR? Schoolteacher Erasmus Hobart isn't a man content to speculate. Instead, with his home-made time-travelling privy, he journeys back to mediaeval Nottingham on a quest for knowledge. But with homicidal knights, amorous female outlaws and mischievous squirrels all providing obstacles to his progress can he really find the truth and still get back in time to mark 4A's history homework?

A Bloody Bloody Mess In the Wild Wild West by Justin Bienvenue A Bloody Bloody Mess In the Wild Wild West

The year is 1870. Five years after the Civil War has ended. Many states, cities and small towns are still recovering, one of these places is the town of Toomswood. The town has been taken over by sly corrupt tycoon Javier “Bones” Jones. Things only get worse for the town when a mysterious stranger rides into town making an offer and cutting a deal with Jones. The man gives Jones super dexterity and point pin shooting accuracy among other like abilities, however in return he has placed a curse on Jones, making him a leader to the Undead unbeknown to his knowledge. After finding out his curse Jones takes a liking to it and soon kills to turn his gang into an army. The mysterious man then tells Jones he will also lead Undead Civil War soldiers who are now bloodthirsty madmen. It is up to Emerson Shaw, a quiet humble young man with his own personal demons to stop Jones and his men. Along with his best friend and others who will join them, Shaw must find a way to stop Jones from destroying and terrorizing the town and turning it into a literal walking Ghost town.

Open those saloon doors to witness evil like no other. A Bloody Bloody Mess In The Wild Wild West is sinister, wicked and original. Rich and colorful characters with clear motives and agendas but also strangers with a shifty and suspicious demeanor. A gritty, grim and gruesome tale of steady paced wild west horror with dark imagery soaked in carnage. If you like your characters a shot away from death or walking corpses fresh out of the graveyard then check out A Bloody Bloody Mess In The Wild Wild West

NEW EBOOK RELEASE! A THRUST TO THE VITALS
#10 Rafferty & Llewellyn procedural series

‘Solid, straightforward detection mingled with family mayhem.’
KIRKUS REVIEWS ON A THRUST TO THE VITALS

Returning to Elmhurst many years after his involuntary departure, to attend a civic reception in his honour, Sir Rufus Seward had ignored the maxim that 'going back' is not always wise.

Summoned after Seward's body is found, a wood chisel protruding from its back, Dl Joe Rafferty receives a panicky call from his younger brother, Mickey, who fears he is in the frame for Seward's murder. Strangely, given his loathing of the dead man, Mickey had received an invitation to the reception. Keen to confront the bully who made his youth a misery, Mickey found his tormentor's body, and fled the scene...

Rafferty, aware that his brother hated Seward, and that Mickey, a carpenter by trade, has three pointers to guilt - the means, the motive and the opportunity - finds himself torn between protecting his family and finding the real killer

'Wonderful series. Fantastic books. I highly recommend them. They have terrific characters and interesting plots.' Gail Farrelly, Author
