Peter Bolton | 1 comments Blowing the Bridge: A Software Story

Sex, drugs, rock'n'roll...we're talking about a hedonistic music festival, right? Instead, we're talking about an IT department, in the absurd (yet somewhat epic) story about a software project that was doomed to succeed. Think even more ridiculous than Office Space...and you're still not even close.

Exposing some of the more ridiculous aspects of corporate America and the insane characters who haunt its halls, Blowing the Bridge gives the reader a prying peep behind the curtain, at some of the more comical aspects of working with the more colorful personalities in technology. Bitterly funny throughout, it also painstakingly recounts the struggle of a small team determined to navigate a path towards building something of excellence, despite a mine field of bureaucratic stupidity and the occasional mortar round of tempting prostitutes.

Margaret Skea | 33 comments Turn of the Tide Turn of the Tide by Margaret Skea

Turn of the Tide has been described as historical 'faction' at its best - historical fiction based on fact. Set in 16th c Scotland it follows the fortunes of a fictional family trapped in a real life clan feud. Judged 'outstanding' by Jeffrey Archer, speaking on the Alan Titchmarsh show, it was the Historical Fiction Winner in a Harper Collins competition for debut novels.

Hello Brian

Many of my family are crooks, swindlers and tax evaders so I'm thinking that your book is likely to be the perfect Christmas president for those relatives of mine who inexplicably remain at liberty. One question though - concerning the $10,000 protection policy. What exactly does this protect me against? I'm particularly worried about werewolves.

YA Paranormal Romance
Demi has it all figured out. She is going to be a ballerina just like her mother wants. Since the dance studio is the only place she feels like she fits in, it’s the perfect plan. All she wants is a normal life, one where she and her parents aren’t moving to a new place after another one of her accidents. But Demi knows she is far from normal because she can feel it every time she walks near a park, or a tree, or a flower. Demi has a gift-or a curse; green things call to her. They tug at her soul and she has no idea how to control it. That is, until she meets a young man with a similar gift who shows Demi the path to discovering who she is and what she and her gift are meant for.

Roger Owen Bishop (rogertheriter) | 4 comments UNHOLY ORDERS: Unholy Orders by Roger Bishop Roger Bishop Anti-Hero Richard Walker re-invents himself, and sets out on a path that eventually takes him along the hallowed corridors of the Church of England.
Here he discovers more corruption and duplicity than even he thought possible. UNHOLY ORDERS is definitely NOT just another religious tome. Lust and larceny figure prominently, and a few church secrets are exposed. This is a book that will appeal to both sexes, its underlying theme is a love story with a difference, as Richard tries to secure his families future, and thwart those that would see him fail.

This culminates in the biggest insider trading scam to ever involve the Church of England and a few of its employees. The author draws upon his time employed by this august institution to reveal some fascinating facts about its internal workings, and its failings too.

John Traveller never asked to be ripped from his life as a police detective on Earth. He definitely never expected to find himself trapped inside a patchwork alien city of magic and technology, locked down under an impenetrable dome. But when a high profile death rocks the citizenry of GreenGrass, Traveller is forced into the middle of a brewing civil war between the city’s two dominating factions.

Racing beneath the city’s twin red moons, on a search for a cloaked stranger, Traveller and his team consisting of a pacifist demon, a cast out demi-god, and a telepathic female, find themselves drawn into dark alleys and guarded secrets, facing bestial street predators, techno-assassins, amphibious conmen, and a vampire acting troupe. The answers they discover may save their new home or bring the walls of the dome crumbling down around them all.

Slaton Smith | 7 comments Kill on Command

Hello!

My new book, Kill on Command: A Sean Garrison Novel, is out. The ABC's are below.

The Hook:
Kill on Command introduces Sean Garrison. Sean is a guy with everyday problems. He loses his job. His girlfriend dumps him. He is a guy who values his friends and independence. His life is turned upside down when he is sucked into a covert CIA assassination program. Turns out he's a great killer, but he does not like what he has become.

Synopsis:
Kill on Command introduces reluctant assassin Sean Garrison. Garrison, a happy go lucky Pittsburgh native, is suddenly thrust into an illegal CIA assassination program when he loses his job with an advertising agency. Against his will, he becomes a ruthless, blood thirsty assassin hell bent on the destruction of men his handlers see as a threat to the U.S. Along the way, a beautiful, but deadly CIA operative with an agenda of her own assists Garrison. She leads him on a roller coaster ride of death and destruction as he struggles to figure out who he is and what he has become.

Quick Biography:
I am a marketing executive living in Dallas, Texas. I travel a ton - too much. I started Kill on Command one night when I ran out of new books to read and was bored. Twenty-five pages became fifty. Fifty became one hundred. . . . Most of the book was written on airplanes and in Starbucks. I am a graduate of West Virginia University. I have a degree in History, which is still paying big dividends.

Thanks for reading!

The world has nearly self-destructed due to numerous wars, environmental disasters, cataclysmic events, and social upheaval.

A small group of dedicated men and women initiates a social experiment to eliminate all of the institutions, philosophies, and bad behavior in general which it feels contributed to the downfall of previous societies.

Within three centuries; war, crime, greed, vanity, inequality, prejudice, poverty, and hunger have been eradicated.

However, they are not the only things that have disappeared. The institution of marriage, the family unit concept, long-term intimate relationships, and religion no longer exist.

Andrew Fish | 12 comments Siege Mentality by Andrew Fish Siege Mentality

My latest comic opus. Here's the blurb:

AN ENGLISHMAN'S CASTLE IS HIS HOME

The mid-seventeenth century should have been the perfect time for aristocrats like Lord Galton, owner of the rural retreat of Henandwya Castle. With the country free from the threat of invasion for the first time in centuries, the Scots and Welsh pacified and the dispute over the one true religion confined to a few crackpots throwing pews around in Glasgow, it should have been time to convert swords into ploughshares and old family castles into stately homes. But then some piffling local dispute in London escalated and the next thing you knew, armies were rushing round the country looking for defensible places to hole up in order to start slogging at each other. Now the peace of the Welsh marches was to be shattered and the plans for a quiet life torn up. When the nation was by the sword divided, even the most pacific of nobles would struggle to remain on the sidelines.

Siege Mentality is a historical farce by Andrew Fish, author of Erasmus Hobart and Golden Arrow.
