I just finished Remember by Karen Kingsbury and have started Duma Key by Stephen King (for my scary Halloween read)!
Enjoying this book's fulsome character portrayals. Suburban life colored by grief, an eye opening portrayal. I just saw an audiobook giveaway on new york journal of books, could be a scintillating earful. Here's the link to win:

Mafalda wrote: "I'm reading

I started yesterday Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution, and I am enjoying it a lot. I am not sure how historically accurate it is, but it is a good read.

I loved this one when I read it a few years ago Danna. The descriptions and lifestyle were so interesting I thought.

Just finished Kite Runner and Cutting for Stone. What writing. I could hardly put Cutting for Stone down. I just wanted to read until I finished.

They get better! One of them is my absolute FAVORITE YA male crush. More than Jacob (twilight), more than Dimitri (va) and more than Peeta (hunger games). I love him almost as much as Barrons!
Jane wrote: "Just finished Kite Runner and Cutting for Stone. What writing. I could hardly put Cutting for Stone down. I just wanted to read until I finished."I loved both of those books...which, one is better, I couldn't tell you, but they are both on my "Favorite Books" shelf:) I second the fact of "What Writing"!! Outstanding!!! In fact, I'm going to try reading A Fine Balance next. Another book that I hear is just as superb as those two books. Did you ever read that? And, if you did, what did you think?
No I haven't yet but I just put it on my TBR list - thanks for mentioning it. And I think Cutting for Stone was better ---
CR Dewey: The Small Town Library Cat - of interest because I've worked for two public libraries, but more so because I currently work for a church and bring my dog to work every day!

Here I'm too! I'm right now reading 2nd book from trilogy! What do you think so far?
I read The Luxe
recently and now I'm reading Rumors
. These were billed as YA-- which initially put me off reading them-- but I don't particularly see them as being YA especially.
The World According to Garp - I'm catching up on all the classics and must reads of our time! It's incredible! I've read 3 books this week
Just finished Graveyard Tale by Neil Gaman and was very disappointed. I loved Good Omens and Neverwhere and expected much more.
Sorry you were disappointed by "Graveyard Tale" ... maybe I liked it because I listened on CD and the reader added something to the book?
Liz wrote: "Sorry you were disappointed by "Graveyard Tale" ... maybe I liked it because I listened on CD and the reader added something to the book?"I noticed that too - some books works better when you read them, and some better when you listen them.
I was listening "The Book Thief and my mp3 was broken when about 100 pages before end. I started finishing book by reading and noticed how it was much harder accumulate this book by reading. I liked this book anyway, but listening was better
