Just finished Maggie Stiefvater's THE SCORPIO RACES which was a great read for autumn. Especially if you live where it is blustery AND you like horses.

You definitely should pick up The Night Circus. :) It's super good!
And yes, get around to Alice In Wonderland too, it's a really quick read.

That sounds really cool, Elizabeth! Hope you enjoy!
I finished The Day the Falls Stood Still last night. It was excellent- I rated it a rarely-given five stars, even though the ending was obvious early in the book. So, Alice in Wonderland is a good read? I'll have to try it. The Disney movie freaked me out when I was little. It was all just kind of LSD-trippy.
I read Alice in Wonderland last year, I refreshed reading (I read it in deep childhood)parallel to my daughter reading this book (she was 8). This is one of the books what good to read in childhood and refresh when you older. But with all this cartoons, movies, theater's plays (and all of that in two languages, because it was super popular in Russia too) that I myself and later with daughter visited - it's never faded from my view or memory.
Breath, Eyes, Memory and In the Time of the Butterflies on my carribean section of around the world in 80 books challenge
Finished reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West around 1:30 this morning. It was worth staying up late. Now on to a cozy mystery, Skirting the Grave by Annette Blair.
Linda wrote: "Breath, Eyes, Memory and In the Time of the Butterflies on my carribean section of around the world in 80 books challenge"I watched movie In the time of the Butterflies. It's very good movie and stars in the movie amazing Salma Hayek, mexican actress which I love from movie Frida
Yara wrote: "I'm reading Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and i'm in love with this book x)"Oh, your're so lucky! I wish it was I who had just discovered the series - such a treat! Enjoy, Yara! You've got 6 very entertaining books to look forward to :-)

, the movie often came on television but never watched it yet."I just finished this book, in one word terrible!
I am about to start
one part to listen to finish Death Match byLincoln Child and starting to re-reading sories by Edgar Allan Poe it's a Hallowen time!
I'm reading
and
. I'm so into the Highlander series now. I really didn't think I'd like a romance series so much. I think it's because Karen Marie Moning is such a great author. I decided to read her Highlander series while waiting for her next Fever novel to be released, and lo and behold, I love them!!
Just finished the last of the The Luxe series -- Splendor -- which is billed as YA but I didn't particularly think it was. Also reading Lucia, Lucia and really liking it. Just starting Mistress of the Sun and Murder Takes the Cake.
I am currently reading Breaking Dawn. The first three books in the series, I could not put them down--this one however, I am finding to be a little slow reading. I need to give myself time to catch to the good parts--maybe!
Meg wrote: "I'm reading
Anyone finished it yet? Thoughts?"
I really wanted to like this one but, sadly, it is really horrible.
Jane wrote: "Finished Night Circus last night - and excuse the choice of words - but it was magical!":D I like your word choice and I agree. I loved it! :)
I just finished yesterday two books: Push and Doubt: A Parable. Doubt was for my theatre course that I am currently in this semester. Push was one of those books I had been meaning to read since the movie "Precious" came out. I am onto The Marvelous Land of Oznow, since I found out my college library has thirteen out of the fourteen original L. Frank Baum books. :-) Got a lot of reading ahead of me there.
Finished Anita Brookner's Fraud. She tells a wonderful story of loneliness and being alone. How one settles for the life they have, accept the life they are transitioning to or change the life people have determined for them. This is the second of hers I have read (Hotel du Lac was the first) and they are both beautifully written.
I just finished The Body in the Library, it was an okay book but expected more.I am about to start A Patch of Blue
I'm still reading Duma Key by Stephen King and am really enjoying it. Its starting to get a little creepy.
I couldn't finish Outlander. Just felt no connection to the main character. I moved onto The Bronze Horseman and I can hardly put it down.
I'm reading Dance in Heather
This will finish up a challenge that I signed on for at the beginning of the year.
When will we start the discussion for Alice's Adeventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass?
Right now I'm going for something a little lighter. I'm browsing through
Essential Captain America, Vol. 1
and finally taking some time to read up on Scandinavian mythology so I've picked up a Finnish edition of Edda which attempts to explain the poems and the stories of Odin, Thor, Loki etc. (In part, I blame comics but mostly just my best friend.)
I finished Dead Man's Song this morning. I really love this story so far.I think I'm going to start The Long Walk this afternoon.
I finished another good Dunant book, Sacred Heart, and started also on This year it will be different by Maeve Binchy. Reading also Umbria by Antonio Calzado in Spanish.
I recently finished Alice in Wonderland, and am looking forward to chatting about it with the other group readers this month! :) And I've started The Red Tent which I'm quite enjoying so far. :) In spite of how many characters there are!
I've just started The Son of Neptune and also Eve and am enjoying both. I just finished up Room which was really good too and Slime and other stories. which was quite a fun read of short stories.
Shelley wrote: "I couldn't finish Outlander. Just felt no connection to the main character. I moved onto The Bronze Horseman and I can hardly put it down."
Ooooh!! You have to get through Outlander!! I know, the first 100 pages or so are tough-going, but after that, the whole series is just bliss. Persevere! Jamie and Clare are SO worth it!!! I've read the whole series like 4 times.
Just finished Lucia, Lucia
. I LOVED this book, even though I loved the main character so much that I wish her life had turned out better for her in the end. It really captured that glamourous, changing world of NYC in the fifties without any "cold war" apocalyptic pessimism. A bit like Breakfast at Tiffany's without the neurotic behavior.
