She passed away a few years ago but she was a memorable one of a kind creature. I have to say creature because she made it very clear that she was not a dog. LOL

I'm like number 180 on the digital library list for

JackieB | 251 comments I've just started Imposture. I'm not sure about it at the moment. I think the author might be imitating an old fashioned writing style and I can't decide if it's going to be irritating or not.

Karen M I'm reading a free download Death Is the Cool Night which is quite good. The book's atmosphere is dark and brooding and is an interesting insight into the backstage world of opera.

Okay so I have three current reads going on (never can get it down to just one book). But I wanted to tell y'all about a really great one I picked up just yesterday. As I stormed out of the house yesterday in a rage I realized that I had forgotten my books in my room - but having just made a scene I couldn't storm back in just to get a book - no matter how badly I wanted to read it. So instead I head over to Barnes N' Noble and searched for the book - I just so happened to remember the exact page I was on. To no avail I began scanning shelves, mainly just walking around until one of the big overstuffed chairs was free so I could stake my claim. While passing the romance section - usually a section I steer clear of - a book caught my eye. It was called Married With Zombies by Jesse Petersen. So I picked it up and looked at the page count, which I believe was only 230 pages, and one of those small romance novels. So I grabbed it and walked into the Starbucks connected to the bookstore; and though my tush hurt an awful lot I read over half of the book. LOVED IT. I'm not one for romance novels, but I am a huge gore fan. And though it only had some gore - all good zombie books need gore - it wasn't as much as I prefer. But it was an amazing book that had me flipping the page. I couldn't buy it (though only ten bucks, I only had 2 dollars worth of dimes and nickels in the car), but plan on going to the library to finish it today before heading up to Jeff City.

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 26 comments I'm reading The Stolen Crown: The Secret Marriage that Forever Changed the Fate of England with one of my book clubs. I read almost anything but I've always been interested in Henry VIII and the Tudors so I figured I might as well go back a bit and learn about the ones who came before him.

I tried reading Fifty Shades too and I could only drag myself thru half of it before I could take no more. So you aren't alone.

Currently I'm about 1/3 of the way thru Pax in the Land of Women (The Ginecean Chronicles, book 2) by Monica La Porta which is really good.
