Book 1: Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex. Series/Fantasy (322 pp). Counsidered YA because the protagonist (Artemis Fowl) is 15 years old. It's a fantasy book as it has Fairies and Gnomes amongst other fantasy characters in.
Book 2: Alice in Time. Stand-alone/Coming of Age (249 pp). Considered YA because the protagonist (Alice) is 14 years old and at high school. It is a coming of age book because she is dealing with issues such as first boyfriends, how her friends see her and a struggle with not particularly liking who she has become.
Book 3. The Graveyard Book. Stand-alone/Paranormal (307 pp). Considered YA because the protagonist (Nobody) turns 15 during the book. It is paranormal as he lives in a Graveyard and is brought up by a number of ghosts.

I picked up on the diabetic/cookie thing, but I also loved how you managed to find a cookie named for you.

25.3 Reflections on 2010: One of my favorite experiences from 2010 was reconnecting with my family. My cousin and my gramma moved close to me, and my sister and I matured and started to get along better, so I read Stuck in the Middle by Virginia Smith about a close family. My best reading discovery of the year was Cate Tiernan's Sweep series, so I read Blood Witch by Cate Tiernan.
