UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments As with all of our BYOC challenges, you get to make this fit your needs. The duration of this challenge is November 1-30.

Some ideas –

--Choose to read 2 books about Pilgrims.
--Choose 4 books where the hero or heroine learns what it means to be truly thankful.
--In honor of Veteran’s Day, choose 3 books where the main characters are military men or women, either veterans or currently serving.
--November is the 11th month, so read 11 books from your To Be Read pile. In 1 day. (Ha ha!)

You can list your books anytime and change them as often as you want, but the only restriction is that you cannot begin reading until November 1st.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Suzanne, that's pretty amazing, if you ask me. 20 books per month? I'm struggling to get through 8 or more.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I read fast, although I may have a logistical problem of actually finding 20 new books from somewhere next month! I may have to do a few rereads

message 23: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) Hmmmm. I knew this would happen if I joined another group! I need to participate in another challenge like I need a third nipple on my ankle!

Anyway, does the goal have to be Turkey Day related? Or can you just make a goal?

message 24: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Hah! Glad to have twisted your arm tempted you to join us ;)

The Build Your Own Challenges are usually restriction free. If there are restrictions, I usually try to have one of each - one with restrictions and one without.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh, Lethal, check out the Coming Soon to a Challenge Near You thread. It might help you plan ahead :)

message 26: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) Ah. Thank you very much for the info & link, UM! I think this would be the perfect challenge for me since I'm going easy next month. I don't have time to read like I used to.

Desperado (lethallovely) Thanks, UM! This list is very tentative, as I'm always changing my mind. But I needed to post something before I chickened out. I'm gonna miss my UF/PNR novels next month. *Lethal sobs*

message 31: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments **pats Lethal on her Lovely back*** There, there. It's going to be ok, and when you finally return to them, they'll appreciate your devotion all the more.

I think they've been taking your loyalty for granted. Books have a way of doing that, you know.

Awww, thanks. I never thought of it like that but they do take me for granted. Time to give other genres some QT.

How in the world did I come up with 8???

It's actually been made into a couple of movies...I've seen the one with Nathaniel Parker and Karina Lombard from 1993 and it was okay. I'm planning on watching the one from the BBC (2006) with Rafe Spall and Rebecca Hall after I've read the book for my book club.

message 45: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 848 comments 11 books for the 11th month sounds great - trying to decide whether to leave them in generic TBR list or divide them into categories, but it'll be 11 total
