I began telling stories as a child. Whenever there was a sleepover, I was the designated ghost tale teller. I still have a story printed on yellow legal paper in second grade about a ghost, a witch and a talking cat.

I enjoy dabbling in many genres. Whether you're a fan of contemporary historical or fantasy romance, you'll find something to enjoy among my books. I'm interested in flawed, often damaged, people who find the fulfillment they seek in one another. To stay informed about new releases, please sign up for my newsletter. Once that hurdle is over, it's a matter of refining it over and over until it's worth presenting to a publisher (or these days, self publishing)(less)

When I decided to try to write with an intent to publish, I was nervous to try my hand at it all alone. I contacted Lauren and together we wrote Finding Home (with Ryan firmly in mind). She focused on the work related parts and I on the family and the street kids. It was a very patchwork way of writing that required many edits to stitch it all together. Since then I've co-authored with several other people, in particular Summer Devon. We pass the story back and forth chapter by chapter in a linear fashion that is much easier to follow. If a writer has very firm opinions about what they want to do in a story, it's better to write solo. If you're willing to yield and be fluid about the plot, then having a partner is good. AS you can see from my back list, I do some of each.
Some of my personal favorites of my books are early ones like Bone Deep and A Hearing Heart, both featuring damaged heroes, and more recently Scarred Hearts, which is set in post WWI Appalachia. I prefer historicals as a reader. As far as m/m titles, The Gentleman and the Rogue is still one of Summer and my most popular books. I like The Professor and the Smuggler as well because I find the professor character endearing and the Cornish setting interesting.
Hope that answers most of your questions. Thanks for asking.(less)

“Well, honey, once you’ve been head-over-heels in love with somebody, you don’t go back to being ‘friends’. It doesn’t work that way.”
Bonnie Dee, Finding Home

“The little group before her finally moved on and Sarah took its place, standing before Tom like he was a painting in a museum.
And then his vacant eyes dropped from that point somewhere above her head and he looked at her—looked into her eyes and registered her presence. His eyes widened and his mouth opened wordlessly.
For the space of six heartbeats they stared at one another and then Sarah simply said, “Come home.” She held her hand out to him.
He gazed at it for a moment.
“Come with me,” she said softly.
Slowly he rose from his chair and walked toward her. He slipped his hand into hers and his palm was warm and callused.
She stepped back and pulled him along with her. Suddenly his arms went around her, hugging her tight, his head dropped to her shoulder and his mouth pressed into her hair as he whispered, “I can’t believe you’re here.”
Her hands slipped up the smooth, supple skin of his back to hook over his shoulders. She buried her face against his chest, breathing him in, forgetting time and place and circumstance and just holding him.”
Bonnie Dee, Bone Deep

“She snuggled against Tom, grateful to have him back and ready to face any obstacles to their happiness. “You won’t leave again, ” she demanded, “No matter how difficult things might get for us.”
“Never again,” he promised.”
Bonnie Dee, Bone Deep

Bonnie Dee Thanks. Glad you enjoyed them. I'm finally taking the time to try to learn how to use all the social media functions at Goodreads, but it's a lot to take in. I don't do much on FD either. Guess I'm not a social person :)

Dianne Hi there! Thanks for being my friend. I absolutely loved your books Bone Deep and Finding Home. I can't wait to read more from you!
