To Splurge or Not To Splurge

Yesterday at the PX, I found

Here's my list:

Some of those are pre-orders, they haven't been published yet

I sense a theme. ;-)
Plus, I won a signed ARC of

Christina, looking forward to the new dragon book by Thea Harrison, and of course next in dragonfire. Didn't know about Dragon Diaries so thanks for that, I'll put it on the list.

Dragons! How exciting, will add to the list also :)

I've heard nothing but good reviews for Ms. Harrison's book.
Shape-shifters are my preferred paranormal group. Dragons are fast becoming my favorite type. :D

Looking forward to all 3 TH's books, got them on the next to buy list.
Love the Dragons :D

Have you read Marjorie B. Kellogg's Dragon Quartet. Not PNR. It leans more toward fantasy/alternate timeline. It's been a long time since I've read them, but I would say it start's out strong in The Book of Earth and slides down towards fair in The Book of Air. But ... DRAGONS!

I also remember reading Patricia Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles around the same time. Fantasy series.

I've got a better chance of getting these ones, my library is woefully short of paranormal but does tend to have fantasy type books.

LOL. Really, I'm not trying to talk you out of reading them. I just don't want to mislead you about the quality to expect. And who knows, maybe your experience will be different.

No, really, if I don't put them in challenges then it won't matter if I don't like 'em cause I can stop or skip. Thanks for the recs regardless. LOL

Umm, ya, and way more... lol! Got my work cut out for me- now Im just woried about filling in my series holes for um... well ya, a BUNCH of stuff, without going broke!

From Borders, with 10% off entire purchase, buy 4 romance get 1 free, and a 40% off one item coupon:
The first 5 are untried authors, buying strictly because of what I've read here. So, if I don't like 'em, it's your fault. LOL.

and from the $1.99 Wal-Mart bin:

There's going to be some pre-ordering fun real soon, especially as I just paid off the cc. LOL.

Remember that pain in the ass volcanic ash cloud from last year? Well, another freakin' Icelandic volcano blew its load! Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England are all no-fly zones. I'm praying very hard that flights in the south of England will still be operational.

Cause you know you were always gonna buy it, didn't you Daffodil ;)

Oh. Who, me? Hmmm, It might have been on the list. In fact, it might have been at the top of the list, just below

The only reason I didn't use the coupon on Kiss is there's already a huge pre-order discount on it.

None have been really bad, they basically tell you if there are marks inside or bad creasing. A lot of them are library books, so once again some well used others not read at all.
I find they are good for older books or hard to get books. Great if you want to grab books from a series that is well under way. I wouldn't buy new books from them cause they cost a lot more than BD.
