As the lone survivor of his vampire clan, Seamus Fitzhugh lives only for revenge. And now that he's infiltrated the compound of his enemy his chance has come…until he rescues a stunning hybrid from certain death. Megan Perez is a woman on the run from her own demons, and she's a distraction that could cost them both their lives. But the passion that burns between them is too hot to ignore, and not even the threat of danger can keep them apart.
Now their fates are intertwined—for better or worse— as they risk everything to experience the ultimate sensual release, as evil closes in all around them. Seamus must weigh how far he will go in the pursuit of vengeance…and love.

This was my first Silhouette Nocturne. I love Alexis Morgan, I love vampires, so I thought "what the heck?" What a great book. If you like Susan Sizemore's vampire Primes, you will LOVE this book. Seamus Fitzhugh is the last of his clan, and had to leave med school in disgrace. That's all we know. Some scandal involving his sister and a broken engagement caused her death. SPOLER ALERT: Really, she was executed for crimes against her own. We don't find that out until Seamus is well and truly on his way towards retribution. Well, one big factor in the name of Megan has him constantly distracted from his revenge of killing everything Rafferty O'Day holds dear. (Rafferty was betrothed to his sister and broke said engagement-vampires are very 19th century about their laws I guess) So while Seamus falls for Megan and her infant daughter Phoebe, he gets to see that Rafferty and his wife Joss are not the money-grubbing power-hungry monsters he thought them to be. Meanwhile the father of Megan's baby girl is heir to the Delaney clan and wants Phoebe to secure his own future-and heck with Megan! So all of Seamus' protective instincts clamoring that he protect his own...but is Megan his? My favorite passage from this book is: (after incredible sex) Seamus-"I'd say let's try that again, but it might be a while before I can. I'm pretty sure more than just my brain got fried." When she giggled, he felt the vibration through his entire body. To his surprise a certain part of his anatomy immediately stirred back to life. He cuddled closer to share the good news with Megan. Megan-"Hey, is that for me?" Seamus-"I do believe it is." Megan-"Perfect." I thought it was cute how playful he was even with his intensely serious vampire nature.
Good read, action based paranormal romance. Although unclear, I'm assuming this is a futuristic/not on this planet vampire story since the place is referred to as 'New Eire', technology seems slightly different, and the vampires run things. There are three species - full vampires [can't go out in the sun, etc:], half vampires called chancellors [who can handle some sun:], and humans [standard issue, bottom of food chain, literally:].
I really enjoy Morgan's work - the heroes are alphas who can be tender and the heroines are nobody's doormat. Her Paladins series is still my favorite but this was enjoyable and I will pursue future books.
The first story in this world [Joss & Rafferty who are major players in this story:] appeared in The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance. I haven't read it yet but enough clues were given in this one that you caught the gist of the backstory.
'What's At Stake' ss in The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance The Vampire's Desire [Harlequin Nocturne Bite:] Vampire Vendetta forthcoming A Vampire's Vindication [Harlequin Nocturne Bite:]
I enjoyed this read...I've read other books by Alexis and liked them too but this is my favorite stuff, vamps and such. I did not read the first book in this saga so I did miss out on the differences between the humans, chancellors and vampires and the world she created but to be honest I was okay with that. I really enjoyed the primary and secondary characters and quickly became attached to Seamus, Megan and baby Phoebe. The story moved at a good pace and there was action and some highly erotic moments. Really good read. Highly recommend it.
Seamus Fitzhugh is a lone survivor of his vampire clan. Seamus is going through school to become a doctor but with his sister dead Seamus loses everything because of what has happened with his family, so he packs up and moves to a ranch with the man who is responsible, planning to take him out. He fakes that he’s an EMS and starts to work there, but not everything goes as planned.
Enter Megan Perez, cousin to Joss O’Day , the wife of the man Seamus wants revenge against. She’s on the run for her life and her daughter. Megan runs to her cousins’ house but is on the brink of death as she arrives. Seamus goes into doctor mode trying to save her life. Seamus fears she has been poisoned, but can’t be sure. He treats her for poisoning and she gets better. Megan is scared that who she is running from has done this and asks Seamus not to tell Joss or register the baby for fear that they will find her. Though Seamus is reluctant he agrees, for he is slowly falling in love with Megan.
They move to another ranch with Rafferty and Joss O’Day, with Seamus biding his time to get his revenge, though he’s finding it hard to because he has become the doctor to the people living on the ranch. Not only that him and Megan keep getting closer. Then some weird things start to happen and they blame Seamus. Megan believes it not Seamus, is there anyway she can help him?
This book was a good one, with twist and turns near the ending. Though I would say it’s an easy read, because it’s not very complicated until the end. Though it was a cute story between Megan and Seamus, with them in love and then not in love. Plus it was a cool little world Alexis Morgan made with the different vampires, humans and chancellors. I give this book a three!
Great full length story with wonderful characters, incredible action, and witty dialogue. I fell in love with all the characters and can't wait to read Conlan's story. It came to a close a bit quickly, but the book as a whole was fantastic. I loved the mission the O'Days have set before themselves. Seamus is a hero that in yummy in all the right ways with a deep seated integrity that gives him a strength you can't help but be drawn to. Megan is strong but with an honest mixture of courage and vulnerability.
this book was a good read to me. I thought the story line was wtitten good for the book. Two different people that met by one saving the other's life and fallingn in love with each other. Both had a past of different kinds. One wanted revenge & the other wanted to get away from the person that was hurting them. Then the person that made a scheme to get the one into trouble so he could go back after the one that he wanted to kill in the first place doesn't get his way.
This book was fabulous, review will be posted on the website when Alexis is stopping by for the 9 Days of Darkness event on May 25th! 10-4pm PST Come join the fun
Seamus was a post grad doctor until O'Day breaks off engagement to his sister who kills herself.he acts like doctor to get close to O'day to kill him but meets Megan and falls in love
Great book. It had a lot of suspense that I enjoyed. I just wish it could have gone a little more in depth with the situation and characters. I felt I was just being thrown in a pool.
Vampire Seamus cons his way into the estate of the Rafferty clan as a medic with a hidden agenda, but after save Megan, a hybrid with a new baby he starts to change his plans. But secrets have a way of coming out anyway. Fortunately love was able to clear the way.
I enjoyed this though it was a bit too easy handled at the end. I wanted more retribution for the bad guys.
Footnote: 1) Would have liked to have some space between changes in POV. It was very disorienting.
Fave scenes: Megan’s back pack, the bigger office, leg puzzle surgery and breaking the chair.
This was very absorbing. The first couple of chapters were action packed with Meagan and her child arriving at a vampire estate, nearly dead. Seamus, a doctor with a vendetta, saves her life in a harrowing chapter. This had a good atmosphere as we learn more about this vampire estate and the secrets and lies that circulate. The characters were complex, and not saccharine. The love was hot between Meagan and Seamus.

This book was good. There was a lot of action and lots of passion, as there usually is in Vampire books, but parts kept me tense. Held my interest from the beginning. Recommend.
Seamus Fitzhugh is a vampire medic and the last of his clan, since his half-sister died. He knows something is odd about her death and he will do whatever it takes to have his vengeance on those who are responsible. So that journey takes him to the estate of his enemy vampire clan leader Rafferty O’Day, but before he meets his enemy he comes across a young dying woman, who needs his help.
Seamus rescues the young woman Megan Perez, who is a hybrid vampire, from poisoning. But that is not all; it appears she’s also the cousin of Rafferty’s wife, Joss. Because Seamus saved Megan life and kept her newborn baby safe, Rafferty hires him to serve as the new medic in his clan. That is the opportunity Seamus was waiting for, a way to get close to his enemy, a way to get his revenge.
Vampire Vendetta by Alexis Morgan is a fantastic novel; it will lure you into a world where danger, vengeance and starting a new life are very high on the list.
Seamus Fitzhugh gave up everything to get close to the one he believes is responsible for his half-sister death. In order to do that he needs to get inside his enemies clan and work from the inside out. But soon Seamus will learn the truth about what really happened.
Megan Perez is a hybrid vampire, who just gave birth to a baby girl. She’s running from the child’s father, who plots to kill her and raise their child on his own. She meets Seamus when she arrives on the doorstep of the safe house, where he’s staying. It appears she has been poisoned and he is her only hope to survive.
Seamus does everything in his power to keep his true identity hidden from Rafferty, Joss and Megan. But the more he spends time with Megan and her baby, the more he sees that revenge will not solve anything. He knows he has to come clean with his past to have a nice future.
I love Alexis Morgan’s Paladins & Talions Series and I couldn’t help myself for trying this Silhouette Nocturne novel. It’s a great book to read when you wan to escape the real world for awhile and just enjoy yourself with a book.
I am sorry to say goodbye to this book. I read this within a few nights in bed. I know the book is over 300 pages, but I wish it was longer.
The tension and relationship between the two main characters were amazing. Morgan had created such a realistic character; such personality and indeed sexy! I'm not talking about his physique, it's the intensity of his aura it projects from the pages. Funny how a male character in a book seem so intense and real. The way it's written, you can feel the atmosphere between the characters.
Seamus is one of the best/realistic male characters I have ever read; he has shown out to me! I want to read more of him, I love his personality and personal morals. Such a shame to say goodbye so soon. Megan too has brilliant characteristics, such a strong woman and mother. It's not like everyday I read about a young mother in a paranormal, romantic book. To be honest, I was rather surprised to learn she had a baby, for that wasn't mentioned at the back of the book.
To start off with I thought the plot would be bland, but soon I was hooked! It wasn't so much the plot that kept me reading, it was the characters and their personalities!
I am intrigued to buy more of Morgan's books and witness more well-developed characters.
I give this book 4/5 because I wished the book was longer for me to enjoy the characters longer and the ending should of been a little more dramatic from the 'build up' of the plot.
P.S- The use of erotic language is simply WOW...... very hot, detailed and indeed sexy!
This author is ok but not one of my favorites. This book started good but became boring and perdictable halfway through the story. The baby in the story left things less than romantic for me. I have a newborn at home and I am not thin and sexy after giving birth. Also, if you are breastfeeding than you have to every three hours so that does not make for all of this time to do all the things the main female character does in this book. I don't know about you but I am exhausted all the time from lack of sleep but these two have all this energy to have sex and run clinics etc. I found it hard to finish this book and it wasn't really that long. I looked ahead to see what the last book in this three book series was about and it doesn't even have Conlan in it. Conlan was a sub character in this book and probably one of the most interesting parts of the book. I thought maybe the next book would be about him, but it isn't. It's about two characters you have not heard about in any of the books so far. I can't say I can recommend this series with all the better ones out there.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. Alexis Morgan is a very talented writer. Seamus Fitzhugh is a hot Vampire and the last of his Clan. He is on a mission to get the people who are responsible for his half-sister's death. Seamus arrives at the Rafferty estate with vengance in his heart. The day he arrives he comes across a dying woman and is compelled to saving her life. Seamus is a Vampire medic. Megan is the cousin of Joss (Raferty's wife). The woman is brought to the estate, and Seamus does his best to save her life. Megan was not traveling alone, she has a baby girl. Seamus found out what happened to Megan; she was poisoned. Seamus is a family man and is compelled to keeping Megan and her lovely baby safe. Coming to the Estate that faithful night has totally started some new ways of thinking and feeling. You have to read this book.....It is really intriguing!!!! This book had me hooked from the beginning to the end. You will laugh, cry, and be held captive by the well written story. I will definately read this book more than one time!!!
It was okay. Most of it was in layman's terms, and that wasn't really impressive. But I did like the functions of the vampires and chancellors. It was new and interesting. Though the relationship was rushed and they were in love after a short time, it was cute. I liked Joss and Rafferty's relationship. At first I thought Rafferty was gonna be a big butthead, but he wasn't. He was witty and threatening, but protected and loved his family and people.
Seamus Fitzhugh has finally set his plans for revenge in motion. The vampire that lead to the death of his last remaining relative, his half sister, will pay. But revenge will come at a price.
Megan Perez is a chancellor. Half human, half vampire. And she has a baby daughter that is full vampire. She also has someone that is trying to kill her. Seamus is the one that saves her from death. And then saves her heart.
Wasn't able to understand the world building or the author's own set of rules regarding vampirism (they are able to eat food and have children and yet none of this is explained). Maybe it's just me but I don't think the main characters had much of a connection, especially because it was pretty much hot and cold.
The only character that I did like was Conlan but he was a side character.
A fun little romancy story. After stating it I thought "This is just like a milles and boons, only with vampires" It was only after that I noticed it was indeed published by M&B.
The characters were good, the romance was hot and the 'dreadful coil' that one has to have in such a novel was pretty decent.
I fell in love with Alexis Morgan's writing when I first read her Paladin Warrior series, and now I adore her vampires too. Seamus and Megan each have their secrets, and a past that they want to forget. Together they will learn to trust again.
Seamus is the only one left from his vampire clan and he lives only for revenge. He meets Megan and realizes that she is a hybrid. Truthfully, I did not hold my interest and I did not finish reading it.
