To Splurge or Not To Splurge

Will you go see the movie "Beastly", AV? I haven't read the book, but I'm wondering who it'll compare."
Yeah I am excited for XVI. I will see the Beastly movie soon I hope... even though I know like most movies based on books, I will pick it apart.

Nina Oberon's life is pretty normal: she hangs out with her best friend, Sandy, and their crew, goes to school, plays with her little sister, Dee. But Nina is 15. And like all girls she'll receive a Governing Council-ordered tattoo on her 16th birthday. XVI. Those three letters will be branded on her wrist, announcing to all the world—even the most predatory of men—that she is ready for sex. Considered easy prey by some, portrayed by the Media as sluts who ask for attacks, becoming a "sex-teen" is Nina's worst fear. That is, until right before her birthday, when Nina's mom is brutally attacked. With her dying breaths, she reveals to Nina a shocking truth about her past—one that destroys everything Nina thought she knew. Now, alone but for her sister, Nina must try to discover who she really is, all the while staying one step ahead of her mother's killer.

ETA - maybe shouldna done that to myself, eeks!
Okay, I didn't even see it was a face on the cover. Haha..

So now I just have to fill in the gaps. LOL.

I haven't tried Jane yet, so maybe I should read this third one before committing to buy the first 2. Thanks for the tip. No doubt, by the time I get to Demon Angel & Atlantis Rising you'll finally have them, but if not I'll have to let you know what I think.

Haha! I was doing the same last night at a borders near me! Here are my picks!

I was even nice and picked this up for the man:

Here are some kindle freebies/purchases I've made recently:

I never know if these freebies are worth getting, so if anyone has read any...I'd love to hear more about them.
:)

I'm always grabbin' freebie eBooks, way more than I'll probably read, but ya just never know what will be the next great book!
I've got #1 of that series, Mary. Looking forward to starting it soon.

Haha...Totally! He's pretty used to it now. And since he's trying to get me to read that series; I'll probably end up reading it to!
:)

Pretty sure it is, title is "Skin & Bone". I haven't read it yet, what with the confusion of last week and trying desperately to concentrate on finishing my Bingo reads. Hey, maybe I'll get lucky and this anthology will be on the next bingo shelf.

I got these from Amazon Marketplace earlier this month:

My library carries every book in the "Kitty Norville" series but book #2 & every book in the "Dante Valentine" series but book #1 (God, I hate that) so those were musts. And I threw in EiD because I love Gena Showalter. The price for all 3 books used? $12 & change. Not bad.

::snort:: I had a mouthful of pop when I read that, I almost drowned.
I remember back when I borrowed Jackson Rule or some other Dinah McCall book from the library. It had one of those double covers. Pretty, generic cover lifted up to show the "hero" in all his manly glory. Well not all, he had pants. The ladies at the check out desk, all friends, told me how delicious the guy on the inside cover was and showed me the xerox copy they'd made of it. Wonder what they'd do if one of those came across the desk. LOL. Hmmm, reminds me of the Diet Coke commercial with all the women lined up at office windows watching the construction workers on break.

Well I found a used bookstore in my area and these were what I got

Thats all I can remember...LOL....

LMAO! I don't read much erotica... I am more into YA and paranormal but not erotica. I think the bit about the mantitties is funny though!

Great picks, Lethal! I read Working for the Devil back in '09 and gave it 4★, but for some reason didn't continue on. Need to move #2 to my "don't forget about me" list. :)

You remember that episode of Friends where Rachel got an interview at Saks Fifth Avenue. And Phoebe commented, "Oh, it's like the mother ship is calling you home." That's how I felt last night.
