message 156: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I just got my wisdoms out yesterday so I picked up a ton of book choices from the library for this weekend:

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness , Sunshine by Robin McKinley , The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen , Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel , Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward , Dirty Little Secrets by C.J. Omololu (still), and 4 short stories by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes the first is In the Forests of the Night (Den of Shadows, #1) by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes .
Phew, I think that's all. I like to have choices ; )

message 157: by Jen (new)

Jen (jencroup) Amanda I read Sunshine for a group read and loved it. Half the people seemed to love it and the other half hated it. It's just seems to be one of those books...it starts out slow but I thought really picked up

message 159: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments @ Amanda- Ewww, that is no fun, but at least it looks like you got some awesome reads to take your mind off of it! I still have all mine. I have room in my mouth and they only hurt every once in awhile. My dentist keeps pushing me to get them pulled, but I say NO NO NO...lol.

message 160: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Hey Amanda, I hope you feel better soon! Eat plenty of ice cream as you will feel so much better..

message 161: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 7659 comments Amanda, I never got my wisdom teeth taken out. One of the few lucky people who didn't need to have it done. I had friends who did and it did not look fun. Sorry you had to get yours pulled. Hope you're feeling better.

message 162: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) The other day I got The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson You Are So Undead to Me (Megan Berry, #1) by Stacey Jay & 2 from a new author I just found recently and I love her. Judas Kiss (Taylor Jackson, #3) by J.T. Ellison & The Cold Room (Taylor Jackson, #4) by J.T. Ellison by J.T. Ellison

message 163: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Hey Lisa S. what made you pick up "You Are So Undead To Me"? What is it about?

message 164: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) Heather, to tell you the truth I needed a "y" book for a challenge I'm doing so that's why I picked it. I think it is about zombies. I'll let you know what I think after I read it.

message 165: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Hmm, OK, cause I might just check it out. I found another YA book in a newspaper, Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. It looks like it is about werewolves.

message 166: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Sabrina! You will simply, love, love, love Naked in Death! And you will also like Vampire Academy. I will dying to hear your thoughts on those two books.

Me, Myself and I, I have this one requested at the library. I am a little leery about reading this one since I have bad experiences with Davidson.

message 167: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) Heather, I really want to read Nightshade but it's to new for my library to have just yet.

message 168: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Hey Lisa S. same in my neck of the woods! Bummer, at least for now..

Hey Sabrina, just to let you know that Lt. Eve Dallas, the heroine in the In Death series has a very tragic and horrific past. It is tough to read but please keep reading, as you will be rewarding with such a wonderful heroine, not to mention a very dashing hero. As for the VA series, you will like it so I'm not worried. Good to know that I am not alone about Davidson. I actually loved the first book of the Alaskan series, The Royal Treatment, especially the last words from Christina. I hated the second one as she screwed up all the characters. I am tired of the Queen Betsy books but I can't stop reading them..

message 169: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I have listened to the first In Death book and it really didn't make an impression on me. Maybe I need to read it. What do you think?

message 170: by [deleted user] (new)

looking forward to getting The Little Book by Selden Edwards

message 171: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Uh, Lisa S. Sweetie, YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK! OMG, you won't be sorry! I feel in love with this series and owe all the books! When Robb releases the HB, I check out first with the library and then buy it when it comes out PB. Trust me, please, read it!

message 172: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) LOL! OK Heather I'll read the book.

message 173: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 931 comments The other day I got this from the library:
The Dead and the Gone (Last Survivors, #2) by Susan Beth Pfeffer

I don't think it's really my type, but you never know, right?

message 174: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Hey Lauren, I read the 1st in the series of The Last Survivors, "Life As We Knew It" and it was good. I didn't think I was going to like it but I did. I need to read this one and there is a 3rd that ties them all together. I think you will like it.

Lisa S. I knew you were going to laugh at me! Trust me cause I am so thankful to my friend Jackie who bought me Naked In Death.

message 175: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 931 comments Thanks Heather! I had to read Life as we Knew it for a project, and I really enjoyed it.

I think Bet Me is one of my favorites by Jennifer. Let me know if you like Pretty Little Liars, I've been meaning to read it.

Sashana, I ended up really liking Pretty little Liars, it took me a little while to get used to. I'm not really sure why though.

I really like the show, but I'm hesitant to read the books. Have you seen the show?

message 183: by Jen (new)

Jen (jencroup) I haven't watched the show. I wanted to, but it was on at the same time as something else that I watch.

Sashana JenC wrote: "I haven't watched the show. I wanted to, but it was on at the same time as something else that I watch."

I hate when that happens! How's the Plum series going? Are you a Ranger or Joe girl? *pleasesayjoepleasesayjoe*

message 185: by Jen (new)

Jen (jencroup) I'm sorry but I want them both...Joe can mow the lawn and help with house stuff....Ranger can well I don't think he does much but keep Stephanie alive and make her smile. I don't know why, but I can't pick between the two of them.

I’m stuck between wanting her to choose Joe, and then wanting her to choose Ranger so I can have Joe for myself :). It’ll be interesting to see who she picks in the movie.

message 187: by Jen (new)

Jen (jencroup) I think I would want Ranger for myself, but then again I really like Joe...I've never read a book series that I couldn't pick between the two guys in it. Part of me just wants her to pick already so I know.

message 188: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I'm a Ranger girl myself. His mystique is sexy.

message 189: by Sans (new)

Sans I had a tough time getting into the Stephanie Plum books. Got about 1/4 through the first one and just didn't pick it up again. How long did it take you guys to get into the story?

message 190: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Sans wrote: "I had a tough time getting into the Stephanie Plum books. Got about 1/4 through the first one and just didn't pick it up again. How long did it take you guys to get into the story?"

Sans, I didn’t have a problem getting into the books. I'm having a problem staying interested though. Somewhere around book 5 it just got a bit too repetitive for me but I still try to read them all.

message 191: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments JenC, you cleaned up just fine. Good choices and I will be curious to hear your thoughts about Bet Me.

Sans, a lot of people had that problem with SP series. I suggest that you stand by and keep reading. Some of the books get a little silly and then there are the books that have plenty of Joe and Ranger!

My library books are finally reading: Spider's Bite and You Are So Undead To Me. I still have to finish Twice Bitten, plus Wicked Appetite to read! Oh holy crap! I am on vacation which means I never read so I have to get my ass back to work in order to read, LOL!

message 192: by Jared (new)

Jared Quist I just finished The Secret Circle series by L.J. Smith. I'll be returning those tomorrow and checking out some new books. I'm not sure what to get. Any suggestions?

message 193: by Heather (new)

Heather | 504 comments Depends on your mood? How ya feeling? Looking for paranormal? Historical? YA?

message 194: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 7659 comments Jared, I tried to see your bookshelf, but you're set to private. As Heather was asking, what's your favorite type of genre to read?

message 195: by Jen (new)

Jen (jencroup) Sans wrote: "I had a tough time getting into the Stephanie Plum books. Got about 1/4 through the first one and just didn't pick it up again. How long did it take you guys to get into the story?"

I didn't really like it until book 3. I do why someone would have a hard time staying interested too. I just finished book 11 and I just want her to pick someone already get married and drop the whole I can't make up my mind, I don't want to grow up thing. She should move to neverland with the way she acts sometimes.
