Level 3 of the Serious Readers Challenge for 2010

[Lisarenee]

This challenge is for serious readers. This is the 3rd level of this challenge. The challenge consists of many levels, each level consisting of 100 books. So if you have not complete your first hundred, go back and complete Part 1 of the Serious Readers Challenge for 2010. If you have not complete your second hundred, go back and complete Part 2 of the Serious Readers Challenge for 2010. Please one post per player. Just create your list of books (at this level label them 201 through 300) and mark them off with a strike through them as you finish. If you find you can't finish one of the books on your list for any reason, you may replace it with another. Also, if you just want to decide what you read as you go you can do that as well. Since this challenge is for the year 2010 any books you've read this year may be included so we may have quite a few levels being utilized at one time once I get this challenge up. If you get done with one level, but I haven't created the next just let me know and I'll add the next level to our challenge as soon as I can. This is a free choice challenge. Read whatever you want. Hopefully, all is clear. Happy reading.

Thanks. I slowed down after I hit my year goal of 200. I decided to repaint and basically rip my house apart. I thought about trying for 365 in 365 days, but I decided I'd just read and not try and force myself to that. I could do it, but I have 2 jobs so it's probably better I put extra time into them.

I can just read a book in 3 hours on average so it makes reading go a little faster for me.

I've wondered about that book. I just never picked it up for some reason. It takes most people 3 weeks to read a book if they're trying, so trust me you're good.
Heck, it took me 10 years to get through War and Peace. I would get 100 pages in every year and then put it down.

I read 289 last year, but I didn't start until mid-June really. I read a bit before then, but that's when I picked up the pace. Before then I didn't read much. I watched TV instead. I got tired of watching so many reruns one day so I just picked up a book.

Heather, I haven't watched TV in over a year and read instead also. I agree the amount of reruns is getting out of hand. Each year the seasons get shorter and the number of episodes seems to become smaller.

I really liked it. This book has a more Young Adult feel to it which seems appropriate since Nick is only 14 in the book. It was nice to learn more about Nick.

Other than Kyrian and Ash, no other Dark-Hunters appear in the book. You get to see a teenage Tabitha and there are some Were characters (the Peltiers). You also get to see some other young squires, which is a side to the Dark-Hunters series that has never been delved into before. If you read this check out Nick's mom's age. I swear I read somewhere that she was 28 and he was only 14. I tried to go back and find where I had read that, but couldn't. If I read correctly that means Nick's mom was probably 13 when she got pregnant.

The only thing I question is that I thought Nick didn't know what he was? Maybe he looses that memory later on in the Chronicles? I really can't wait to see how all this is going to affect upcoming Dark-Hunter novels.

Fantasy Lover is different from the other books in the series. There are no Dark-Hunters in that book. The characters in the book are refered to and play a role in at least one of the other books, however.
