I just finished The Running Man. It was fantastic! I read it in less then 24 hours, and I just looked up the movie. I was extremely disappointed to see the plot and characters were 100% different. Has anyone seen the movie?
I am reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly

yes, and it's bad. It's early Arnold, and it's cheese at it's finest. Don't do the book the injustice of watching it. Actually, on second thought, watch it - and appreciate how much more you love the written word than movies.

Yes, I can say it did. Hearing noises/faraway voices, and "what's lurking around the corner" tend to freak me out more than in your face stuff. I have a crazy imagination, and subtle stuff puts it into high gear. My husband laughs at me for admiting it.
Dustin wrote: "I liked the film, actually. It's quite different from the story, but enjoyable, nevertheless."I do like the movie The Running Man and love the story...two different reasons. Did anyone else kinda get reminded of The Running Man movie when they saw Tron? Maybe all those movies are similar.
***************SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!******************
The Blair Witch is pretty scary if you give yourself up to it, same with Paranormal Activity. I remember one day I went looking for my mom and found her in the basement, it looked like she was just staring at the wall, didn't respond when I called her name. Then turned around real quick and scared the crap outta me.

But the scariest thing ive ever seen is the Australian movie 'Wolf Creek'
its suspenseful AND in your face.
Not even going to say anything else. Too scary for words.
I decided on
. I'm about halfway through and I'm really loving it. It's giving me the heeby-jeebies, scaring me a little, and I haven't really been scared by a book in a while. And the little faceless boy on the cover of my copy is a little creepy too lol.
I just finally finished It! I posted my review of it on my blog, but I think that the majority of the people in this group have read it, I'm just a bit behind :]I started The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday and I'm trying SO hard to finish The Bone Woman. I think I might finish it today.
The Girl Who Played with Fire. Excellent so far.Looking at possibly reading another King book shortly. I'm thinking of The Long Walk.
Dolores Claiborne =D. It's taking me a while though because i've been ill (still am). But it's very good so far.
I'm reading two books right now. Bush's Decision Points while at work when its slow and the play for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf in the evening. Bag of Bones will be my next evening book.

I just finished Wizard and Glass. This is really an epic story.I think I'm going to read Catching Fire next.
I need something lighter to read and by that I mean about 400 pages lighter.
I finished The Shining... loved it!I just buzzed through
today. It was good, like sitting by the campfire listening to one of Uncle Stevie's stories. Quick paced, and I liked the characters. I even liked how it ended, because it's going to stick in my mind, I'm always going to wonder what happened to Cogan.I know I should have been cleaning and doing laundry and going to the post office today, but I just couldn't keep myself away from finishing it.
I'm starting Full Dark, No Stars now... I've read about a paragraph of 1922 and I think I'm already hooked.

★ Jessica ★ wrote: "I'm reading I Am Number Four, which is surprisingly fantastic!"I like this one too when I downloaded it on audio, a great read!
Becky wrote: "I'm starting Full Dark, No Stars now... I've read about a paragraph of 1922 and I think I'm already hooked."I am saving this one for my holiday at the end of the month, I always read SK on holiday for some reason!
★ Jessica ★ wrote: "I'm reading I Am Number Four, which is surprisingly fantastic!"I didn't care for that one much, actually. I thought it had potential but fell short of what I had expected.
One that I really loved was Hold Me Closer, Necromancer - it was fun and witty, and different. I highly recommend it!
Dustin wrote: "As of late, I haven't read much of anything...unfortunately...."Why post the exact same message twice?
Kevin wrote: "Dustin wrote: "As of late, I haven't read much of anything...unfortunately...."Why post the exact same message twice?"
Because I felt like it, Keven.

Well, cool with me.
★ Jessica ★ wrote: "I'm reading I Am Number Four, which is surprisingly fantastic!"I saw a trailer for the film of I Am Number Four last night at the cinema. Not sure I like the idea of yet another good book being ruined by the movie world!
I finished Catching Fire and this morning I started reading Monster. It has a really good beginning and has already sucked me in.

I think that the book read just like a movie, so I think it would translate pretty well. :)
The complete short stories of Sherlock Holmes in The Strand.Drood by Dan Simmons.
Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose.
I am FINALLY getting back into reading! Throughout the following week (perhaps a bit longer,) my goal is to complete my re-reading of To Kill A Mockingbird, and finish up Charming Billy!
