Scott | 401 comments I'm finishing up the series by reading The Dark Tower.

message 702: by Dung Beetle (new)

Dung Beetle (dungbeetle) | 79 comments I'm trying hard to get hold of The Marbury Lens, but my library is having some uncharacteristic difficulties with my interlibrary loan!

I’m slowly working on Flashman at the Charge, by George MacDonald Fraser. My one New Year’s resolution was to take time for reading every day, but it’s gone to hell already.

I hear ya. I have the same problem. Feels like the day is way too short.

This is AWESOME, Scott!

message 706: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments I try to plan what I'm reading, but it usually tends to blow up in my face! lol. No matter what I plan on reading, I find another book yelling at me "Read me now! Read me now! You know you want to!" lol.

I've been wanting to read Swan Song. I've heard such great things about McCammon! :)

message 707: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Ohhh, Kathy! You have not read Swan Song? You've just GOT TO! And McCammon is a great writer, Btw!

message 708: by Maya (new)

Maya (mrskitty) | 50 comments Finished reading Alone By Lisa Gardner i really enjoyed this book i might give her other books a try

I've definitely heard that! I think I foresee some shuffling of books on my TBR pile around in my near future! lol

message 710: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (barbarajov) | 8 comments Reading Full Dark, No Stars hardcover and War of the Worlds and Last Light on Kindle. Got the Kindle as a gift at Christmas and all my stuff on there now is freebie downloads. Still loving paper-in-hand reading too much, but adapting. :-)

message 711: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments I know what you mean, Barbara! Nothing will ever replace actual bound books for me, but my Kindle is very convenient in between! :)

message 716: by Kathy (last edited Feb 13, 2011 08:24AM) (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments I am just starting Dracula, The Undead by Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt: Dracula the Un-Dead by Dacre Stoker

I am so curious about this book. I went to a booksigning for this book and they spoke about how much research they did for this book, historically and from Dacre's great-uncle Bram Stoker's notes. We'll see how this stacks up.

message 717: by Susanna (new)

Susanna (jb_slasher) Finished Catch-22. Solid three stars. I liked the setting (I'm partial to war stories) but I didn't feel the story gripping me. And the humour was lost on me. Somehow the end left me feeling like I'd just watched a Steve McQueen movie.

Well, next I'm picking up with Uncle Stephen. Wish me luck as I start Insomnia (never read it before).

message 718: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 612 comments Good luck with Insomnia, hope you like it! Personally I kinda loved it, it's one of my faves :)

message 719: by Maya (new)

Maya (mrskitty) | 50 comments Finished Living With The Dead By Kelley Armstrong and started her next book Frostbitten

message 720: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Hi, Susanna! I hope you really enjoy Insomnia!!

message 721: by Susanna (new)

Susanna (jb_slasher) Thanks, Kit & Dustin. 65 pages in and I'm very much into it. I love how King can just make you like the central character so much right from the get-go.

message 722: by Dustin (new)

Dustin You are welcome, Susanna. Insomnia is a personal favorite (then again, I LOVE everything by King!)

message 723: by Lucie (new)

Lucie Coulombe (luludan) | 6 comments HORNS. Limited Edition.
I am reading this book by his son and it is awsome

message 724: by Varsha (new)

Varsha just started pet semetary- am thrilled to finally have a copy to take my time with and that he has called it 1 of his most frightening books he's ever written!

I'll second that, Dustin!

Thomas | 1 comments Hi guys,

I'm reading 'It - Part II' for the third times. Almost finished it.
The best King ever :)

message 727: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) IT part II? Do you have a two volume edition or something? I've only ever seen/read it as one humongoid book. LOL

Welcome to the group! :)

You are right it is the best book ever :)

message 729: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Yeah, what is IT-Part Two?

message 730: by John (new)

John | 3 comments Just finishing up "The Dracula Dossier" by James Reese & just starting "Get Capone" by Jonathan Eig. Big thumbs up to Reese's book! Captures the gothic feel of Stoker in an incredible way. "Capone" is shaping up nicely too (non-fiction account of Capone's fall).

message 731: by Bondama (new)

Bondama (kerensa) | 868 comments One more time, WHAT IS "IT" PART II??????

message 732: by Maciek (new)

Maciek (pan_maciej) | 198 comments Maybe the book was split into several parts, all published separately. Here the first printing of IT consisted of three volumes.

message 733: by Dustin (new)

Dustin That must be it, Maciek.

I'm about to start it for my second time. Which is almost as good, since my Alzheimer's has wiped out most of the memory of the first time.

message 743: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments lol. Rereading is always good. I always find things I missed or forgot.

message 744: by Susanna (new)

Susanna (jb_slasher) The Finnish edition of It was divided into two parts. Maybe that is the case here?

Gatorman | 561 comments Billy wrote: "I'm getting ready to tear through Blood Meridian, then Carrion Comforts, and the first book of A Game of Thrones series. after that im not sure"

"Carrion Comfort" was a great book. Highly recommended.

message 746: by Dalia (new)

Dalia | 1 comments I am reading Kafka on the Shore and Murakami reminds me so much of Stephen King, except without any of the tongue in cheek snark. I am curious if other Stephen King fans have discovered the similarities between Murakami and King. BTW if you liked the anime Spirited Away KOTS would also appeal to you.

message 747: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Hi, Billy! Blood Meridian is a fantastic read, I love Cormack Macarthy's writing. But be forewarned: Blood Meridian is very, very violent. I also love George R.R. Martin's epic series. And I'm currently reading Carrion Comfort, too!

message 748: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 219 comments Right now I am reading a book that I picked up randomly from my shelf, Rhapsody: Child of Blood, a great read so far into the book.
