Literally Jen (vampsita) 15.5- "The Great Authors Were Great Readers, And One Way To Understand Them Is To Read The Books They Read." — Mortimer J. Adler
On this website (Top Ten Books) you will find a list of authors and their top 10 favorite books. For this task...Read a book written by one of these authors AND a book from their top 10 list.

Author: I chose Jodi Picoult and read Second Glance.

From Jodi's Top 10: Life of Pi Life of Pi really frustrated me, and I didn't like it very much. It was way longer than it should have been, had some bad grammar in places, and took too long to get to the point. The good thing is I didn't see it coming, so I guess that says I can still be surprised, and that not all books these days are exactly alike or formulaic. Even so, I still didn't like it much. Parts of it really grossed me out, and in one place I wanted to vomit. Not an enjoyable read. Vent over.

Arow 20.6 - Supporting Goodreads Authors - Nicole CA's Task - List Maker

I read The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was well written and kept me intrigued through out the entire story. Nicholas Evans brings the characters to life and you feel the pain, sorrow and happiness that the characters do. He does not shy away from harsh realities that people have to deal with. I gave it 5 stars and would add it to a must read list.

Jennifer | 98 comments I said this last challenge, but since grad school is over for the summer I mean it, I hope to be on top of this challenge! Here's what I have so far:

5.3 - S.U.M.M.E.R
For this task read a book written by an author whose initials are found in the word Summer. (Initials must be sequential i.e. SU, UM, MM, ME, ER, and RS not SM).
Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty 6-6-10
5.4 - Lesser Known Awards
We all know the big names in book awards (Pulitzer, Man Booker, Hugo, Newbery etc.) but there are a lot of lesser known book awards out there and lucky for us Goodreads has a list of them. Go to this link (Awards) and: Read a book found on the list of winners and nominees for an award you had previously never heard of. (From the foreign language awards you may read a translation if it is available).
Dead Girls are Easy by Terri Garey 6-8-10 (romance authors of america RITA award)
5.8 - Take A Walk On Wall Street
On July 8, 1889 the first issue of the Wall Street Journal was published. To commemorate this event...Read a book that made the WSJ's Top 5 Best books in any of the categories found here...WSJ TOP 5 LISTS.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie 6-5-10
