Have you read Kristen Ashley books? All her guys are total badass, clipped ripped holy hotness. Antihero book is Knight. Creed is female antihero. Love everything Kristen Ashley.
Hi Jo! I'd have to think about your request. Right now, nothing is coming to mind. I will keep thinking and try to get back to you on that.

Try out her Phy-Changeling Series. Book 1 is Slave to Sensation
Also her Guild-Hunter Series: Angels' Blood

I'm kinda stuck on what to read next myself. No books seem to interest me these days. So I've been rereading IAD books.

Shannon McKenna writes these uber-alpha guys who are all tough but then they fall hard for their women. She does it very well!

Hi Harlen. I haven't read those books, but I am sure there will be some members who can help you out!

Thanks, i will get those ASAP. lol

I have NUMEROUS recs from friends & GR, all of which I expect will be excellent, but I can’t settle to any of them, because I'm in the mood for something angsty.
I’ve always been partial to extreme alpha heros – or, preferably, anti-heros (see Anne Stuart) – but right now I’m in the mood for someone who’s been a real douchebag and has to fight to win his woman. A couple of popular themes are;
• He did something nasty to her when they were kids (or yesterday) and she’s always disliked him (or, at least, wished she could), e.g. After the Night, Sweet Dreams
• They were together and he “finds out” that she betrayed him, he (falsely) accuses her and breaks her heart, (almost any office-based 80’s romance)
• He has a false impression of her – thinks she’s a gold-digger, slut, self-involved princess, e.g. Kiss an Angel
Have seen a few authors do this well, but most others seem to go for a quick resolution of the “misunderstanding”, whereas as I’m looking for real distress/torment! (I know, I’m a sadist!)
Also, he definitely has to feel regret when he tries to make it up for her – a little self-recrimination and grovelling is always nice - but (please!) no abject sappiness about it. I can’t bear it when an alpha manly-man suddenly becomes a freaking poet! Would much rather he kidnap her until she forgives him, rather than swamping her in flowers & jewellery!
Wow, that became a lot more involved that it was when I started the post. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, preferably contemporary, but historical would be fine too, they’d be gratefully received! Not that these are all relevant to the above type of story, but if it helps, some of my romance go-to authors are: Anne Stuart, Linda Howard, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie, Karen Marie Moning, JR Ward, Georgette Heyer, Lisa Kleypas, Shannon McKenna, .... er....this could go on for some time, so I think I’ll stop now!
Once I’m through with my a**hole kick, I’ll be embarking on the Night Huntress series (and Bones, of whom I have very high expectations)!

Have had Whitney on my to-read list for a while - so I even already have a copy!
Someone suggested I put it on my list when I lent them my copy of Claiming the Courtesan - which I loved!
Right - barring any contemp recs, Whitney's at the top of the list! :)
I loved Claiming the Courtesan too! Meagan McKinney has a few books with jerky to the max heroes. They are not above kidnapping and such things.

Iliada, just over halfway through Whitney. So far, the H has been fairly reasonable, so am hoping hoping that changes soon. Or maybe my bastard requirement quotient is just higher than most at the moment! :)
That said - it's a great book! My first McNaught, but definitely won't be my last.
So, thanks for recommending those historicals, ladies. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions re. contemporaries?
Cheers.

I loved Whitney! If you like it try next

Definitely going to get to know the Westmorelands better, Gabriela.
Iliada - I take back what I said above re. all being nice and reasonable. I finally hit the first "misunderstanding" and, from then on - holy drama-rama, Batman!! What angst and bastard-ness! Hooray!!
Instead of curing me of my current bastard fetish, I think Whitney's reinforced it! What a joy - thank you for the rec! :)

I also really enjoy books when the leading characters haven´t seen each other for a few years and then they reunite. I love strong female characters and even stronger male characters. Yikes!! I guess that´s a lot of buts to like a novel, anyway if you guys could help me out I would be forever grateful :D
As I saidm none of this books seem all to interesting. U just din´t know what to read!! :D
I love angsty romances but no teen romances, I like it when the heroine is over 21 years old, but not older than 34, yeah,.... I´m weird like that. And I don´t like heroes that are way to older than the heroine, maybe a ten year difference, but if they´re over forty I find it difficult to relate.
I would love to read a book similar to On Dublin StreetReaper's PropertyPlaying for KeepsLexi, Baby

I am one again clueless about what to read....I like the romance and all that but I'm more into it when it involves action and suspense. I'm going through the Dark Hunter Series right now. I am currently on book # a million and 2. At this point, I'm just waiting for Acheron to get his turn. I LOVE GHOSTWALKERS, if that helps. Any suggestions?

You should try the KGI series by Maya Banks or the I team series by Pamela Clare. Both are like the ghostwalkers. Both series have a book or 2 that isn't great but over all pretty good.

Try Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard or Black Op's series. I prefer her Black Op's books.

If you liked Whitney, you have to read Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught. Another one like you described and both are 2 of my favorite historical romances.

Me need suggestions. Something with a silent strong male and preferably real spunky female. Throw in lots of angst, passion and jealousy.
Any recommendations?
Oh! Crap. I just figured we were supposed to be posting options from our tbr piles.
Me dont wanna read from that *throws tantrum*

I'm loving the Kathleen Turner series by Tiffany Snow. There are two badass alphas the heroine needs to choose from and I can't decide who I like better. This fits your
false accusation/broken heart category with overtones of the gold digger stuff too. Be warned however, Snow has four books out in this series with no resolution in sight. If you hate a cliffhanger (and I do) wait until she's published all of them to read this series.
BTW, Sweet Dreams is one of my all time favorite books, as is At Peace. Tate and Joe work harder than any other hero I've ever seen to redeem themselves and it totally worked for me!

I've only read this one but there are three in the series. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the others. Also, do you read any paranormal?

I read this one and book 3 of the series. 3rd one was my fav. If you haven't already definitely try KC's IAD series.

Definitely Cat & Bones: Halfway to the Grave
I love that series!

Thanks! I read On Dublin Street but I just downloaded Protecting what is his.
