“I believed he was pulling me into a world of darkness, but I’ve come to realize he was showing me the light—a light that illuminated the most unimaginable evil.”

"The Lotus Keeper" follows the story of Adeline Heed, a sweet and innocent, young woman who is forcefully taken by a dangerous drug cartel leader and pulled into a world in which she never thought existed. As she struggles to break free from her captor, she learns that he isn't the only one holding her back, forcing her to adapt, yield and awake a rawness inside if she's ever going to survive.

Hart, the man responsible for her capture, isn’t at all what she imagined. He’s controlling, observant, and dangerous. He demands obedience, set on breaking her down, shaping her into submission but despite his efforts, he's met his match. The longer Hart holds her captive, the stronger she becomes. She's witty and quick and she's intent on doing what no other has done before—unravel the mysteries behind the green-eyed man.

Will Addy break him before he breaks her?

Leeann Mays is a hopeless romantic who still gets embarrassed when she is with her parents and a kissing scene flashes across the television; nonetheless, she enjoys writing dark romance, erotica, and thrillers in her spare time. She has written a five-book series, The Lotus Series which is available on Amazon.
She has climbed the highest point on three different islands, been mistaken for a lost child on numerous occasions despite being in her late twenties, has the fashion sense of a grandma, and would purposely get grounded as a kid so that she could read books all night long.
She considers Louisiana her home but is an avid traveler and adventure seeker—some of those adventures were the result of very poor decisions and a bit too much curosity. She is currently living abroad with her obesely demonic cat and is working on her next series.

Addy had just graduated college and was out with some friends celebrating. She gets drugged, attacked and kidnapped. She wakes up on a compound belonging to the second in command of a cartel lord. She's punished, she's tortured, she's left trapped. All she wants to do is escape, although the compound is surround by the ocean. Her thoughts are obviously ridiculous, but staying isn't an option. Even knowing that a skilled assassin has her in his crosshairs doesn't deter her from her plan. All her jailor/captor, Hart, wants to do is keep her safe. However, with her quick wit, her smart mouth, and her senseless ideas, she might be more than even he can handle.

I'm thinking that I was supposed to hate Hart because he was the big bad cartel guy who kidnapped an innocent girl, put her through some intense treatments, and helped to run an illegal organization. He killed people, tortured people, ran games on people. He wasn't a good guy. But here's the thing... I loved Hart. I would have loved getting more from his perspective and less from Addy's. That's how much I adored him. He is still a huge mystery to me, but the bits and pieces the author has given me so far have only intrigued me more. He's a puzzle I crave to solve. I kept reading and reading and loving this story because of this man. I could not get enough of him!

Ending on a cliffhanger, this story was full of surprises. I can understand why this author was hounded to publish this story and for her debut book, she created a winner. There wasn't any romance in this one, but maybe that will be flushed out in the books to come? I'm hooked and I'm looking forward to continuing this series and getting more of Hart's sexiness.

I was really hesitant about this book when I started it. Even though it came highly recommended. I really expected a Stockholm syndrome scenario to play out and I don't usually like dark romances. However around the halfway mark it started to change for me into something much more palatable. I can't really say too much without giving spoilers in fact I've probably said too much. The story is about Addy whose parents recently died. She's just graduated college and is out celebrating when she's kidnapped. You follow her journey as she tries to escape her captors and figure out why she was targeted to begin with.

I rated this four stars despite being iffy in the beginning because it did keep your attention and I stayed captivated throughout the book just waiting to see how the story would play out for the good or the bad and by then end I decided I enjoyed that process even though it was at times uncomfortable for me. I wish I had waited to read this book until the next one was out because it does leave you on a cliff hanger and now I'm going to have to read the next one bahaha

This book made me dive into dark romance. Never I have obsessed with a novel before this series. With a realistic plot, unpredictable twists and turns, and brilliant descriptions, this series made me keep on my toes after every chapter.

I won this book as a Goodreads giveaway

Addy is kidnapped by a drug cartel leader and pulled into an entire new world. She tries to escape, and learns a lot about her situation and what is going on. The man who kidnapped her is controlling and dangerous. He tries to break her down to get obedience, but he has met his match in her.

Very good story and well written. I enjoyed this one!

Riveting

This book was very good, even though I found it somewhat disturbing at times. I was riveted from the very beginning and was on textbooks the whole way through it and just had to keep reading .

Never received this book so how can I read or rate it? Goodreads said I won it but if it's a ebook I never received it. If it's a trade, paperback or hardback it was never sent. Would love to know??

While I think this series is likely headed down a dark romance path, there was no romance in this first book. You can definitely feel the chemistry between the two main characters even though things do not get physical.

This book is thrilling and gritty. The author does a wonderful job of depicting the drug cartel world and the nature of human trafficking. It’s hard to like a book that sensationalizes these topics BUT I couldn’t stop reading. The story does end on a cliff-hanger but luckily the second book is out. I enjoyed the storyline so much that I immediately purchased the second book in the series.

I won a Kindle copy of this book through #GoodreadsGiveaway.

Addy is young and impressionable, but she's smart and tough, and she learns fast. Gabriel is tough, smart, and world-weary... with a dark side that young Addy sees past. The action begins in New Orleans, but quickly moves to an unnamed tropical island estated owned by Gabriel.

Tension builds both in the plot and between Addy and Gabriel until Gabriel's dark side takes over... and then... welllll..... I am not giving away the story-line.

Great read with interesting and believable characters. Go check it out.

I love this book so so much. It contains action, mystery, and love, things I always would like to find in a story. I also love Gabriel and Abby and hope they finally will come together in the second book. Totally worth it!
