Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I'm indifferent to the ratings, as how they are written takes precedence in enjoyment.

TPBM has decided to go outside their comfort zone and buy a piece of clothing that s/he wouldn't normally, but which s/he has wanted to wear.

message 7702: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments The most recent time that happened was when I bought a fedora during my May 2014 trip to California. Fedoras are awesome, but hats in general make my head itchy, so I don't wear them.

TPBM has seen the Faces of Death documentary from the late 1970’s and couldn’t take it seriously.

TPBM has see..."

My obsession with death has me itching to see it but alas, it hasn't happened yet. Sounds like it would be good inspiration for some horror stories, though.

TPBM is a proud book hoarder.

message 7704: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Loud and proud, to be exact! I've got a new bookshelf that's begging for more! :)

TPBM has seen the movie “Tales from the Hood” and enjoyed it.

message 7705: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Never seen it.

TPBM always reads the book before watching the movie/show.

message 7706: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Not always, but that's the case with "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "The Fault In Our Stars". I swear to god, there's not enough glue in this world to put my shattered heart back together after reading those two books.

TPBM enjoys the music of 3 Doors Down.

message 7707: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yes! They always sound like home to me :)

TPBM has a house with a wood-burning furnace.

message 7708: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Nope. I live in Arizona and there's not much need for those here in the valley.

TPBM doesn't understand the difference between all wheel drive and four wheel drive.

message 7709: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I'm pretty sure there isn't one? Open to corrections on that, but I think they're just different terms for the same thing.

TPBM loves playing 'Scrabble' :)

message 7710: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I used to, but haven't in a long time.

All wheel drive means that the four wheels are always under power from the engine. But 4 wheel drive means that at least two of them may not be and need to be manually engaged.

TPBM enjoys trivial pursuit.

message 7711: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I've never actually played, but it looks fun.

And ohh, thank you! That makes sense :)

TPBM is trying to learn web coding in order to pursue a higher goal.

message 7712: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I already know a little bit of HTML from my high school classes. I made a website of my writing with it back in the 2000's and it has since been shut down. Rest in peace, Macaroni & Ownage Productions. Come to think of it, that's a weird-sounding website name!

TPBM enjoys the song “Always” by Killswitch Engage.

message 7713: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I've actually never heard that one, though the band name sounds pretty familiar... I'll have to look it up :)

TPBM has recently visited a town with less than 100 residents.

message 7714: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not recently. The town I recently visited has about 2500, compared to the 2.5 million or so in the metropolitan area of Vancouver.

TPBM has no desire to live in a small town.

message 7715: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I could be really comfortable in a small town, I think--I just visited a tiny one for work (five streets, 66 people) and it felt very homy and cool. That said, I really love the big-city feel as well. The only place I could never live would be the suburbs, they kinda creep me out.

TPBM loves the sound of trains at night.

message 7716: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments How do trains sound at night? I live in the Phoenix suburbs.

TPBM loves to feed ducks.

message 7717: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do not, although I enjoy watching them feed naturally. (Most of what humans feed ducks is bad for the ducks and good for the rats. Sorry about that.)

TPBM lives where they get to see a large variety of birds.

message 7718: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments yep! cardinals, crows and sand cranes are my favorites :)

Trains kind of rumble along their tracks, and they honk their horn whenever they pass a town or road. depending on how close you are, it can sound haunting and eerie or like an invading mongol horde, but it's fun either way, especially at night for some reason :)

TPBM has had a pet bird.

message 7719: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. One time I rescued a hawk that had part of it's wing missing and couldn't fly.

TPBM finds crows fascinating.

message 7720: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I do. They make good creative fuel for horror stories.

TPBM knows how to install software for a piece of computer equipment without having the actual disk (if you do, please tell me).

message 7721: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments If it's free software and it has a website with a large red 'download here' button, yes, but I can't manage anything more complicated than that :)

And Guy, you rescued a hawk? That's awesome!!

TPBM does not have Microsoft Word on their computer.

message 7722: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do not. Word is perhaps the most pernicious software ever written.

TPBM likes to write using plain text editors on their computer.

message 7723: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Not really... I need a vertical rectangle format to write in, or I get confused. I'm liking Pages at the moment, a lot better than Word (though everything needs to be reformatted in Word in order to be published, which can be a pain) :)

TPBM can never remember to fold their clothes after washing them.

message 7724: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not a problem with me. And since reading Marie Kondo's book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, folding clothes is different, both in the mechanics and in the joy.

TPBM watched The Passion as revisioned by Tyler Perry.

message 7725: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments I heard it was on but by the time I did it was too late.

TPBM loves stories or movies with a silly humor.

message 7726: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yes! dry and ironic humor are my favorites, but pure silliness is fun too :)

TPBM read 'Red Sails to Capri' as a kid and thought it was the best book ever.

message 7727: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I have not. The books I read as a kid included The Outsiders, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Clockwork Orange, and the Robotech series.

TPBM refuses to play the lottery.

message 7728: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yep. I'd rather gamble with my life choices than my money; it's more fun :)

TPBM has a deep need for a certain book, movie, or tv show right now.

message 7729: by James (last edited Mar 21, 2016 06:33PM) (new)

James Flamel (a_golden_leaf_in_winter) | 136 comments After watching Last Week Tonight: The Lottery, I understand where you're coming from.

TPBM has been to a writing seminar or conference.

-

Edit: Sorry, didn't see yours, Grace. I always have a deep need for books.

See TPBM above.

message 7730: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'm afraid not, but I'd really like to at some point.

TPBM has some songs they dont like that they accidently bought on iTunes and cringes whenever he or she hears it come up.

message 7731: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I bought a whole U2 album after only purchasing one song from a separate album. U2...(shivers)

TPBM thinks the Gorgon Video movie logo is creepy and cool at the same time.

message 7732: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Never seen it.

TPBM likes wearing socks.

message 7733: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I'm neutral to it. It's just like any other article of clothing on my body.

TPBM can play the piano.

message 7734: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. I've learned a few chords and plunked out a few songs, but would not in any way describe that as playing.

TPBM has a very musical parent or sibling.

message 7735: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments My brother plays the drums. He's good enough to be in a band, but he isn't entertaining that thought at the moment.

TPBM has a pillow that smells like cherry jelly beans.

message 7736: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Who does?

TPBM feels inspired today.

message 7737: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I feel inspired to see the new Star Wars movie on Wednesday, which I'm going to do.

TPBM wants to see the movie Hardcore Henry.

message 7738: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Knowing nothing about it but that it's described as a mix between Jason Bourne and Captain America, I'm very interested :)

TPBM is excited to see the Doctor Strange movie when it comes out :)

message 7739: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Seeing as how the main character is a badass superhero, yes, I'd say so. :)

TPBM wonders if getting a “Chicago-style beat-down” means getting hit with a deep dish pizza.

message 7740: by Deepak (new)

Deepak (noobhemingway) | 284 comments I'd never thought of it that way and now that's what I'll think of whenever I hear "Chicago style beatdown". Thanks Garrison. :D

TPBM has played any of the Bioshock games.

message 7741: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments No, but I'm reading some pretty awesome Bioshock fan fiction and now I want to know what the game's all about :)

TPBM enjoys fantasy books with more political machinations than magic.

message 7742: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Aa long as they are well written. (Did you enjoy Dune? It's one of the best of the sort.)

TPBM read their first adult sci-fe before the age of 12?

message 7743: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I was probably about twelve or thirteen when I read The Chapters of Brian Able by B.J. Kelly. I knew the writer at the time though, so I was mostly beta-reading :)

I'm planning on reading Dune this year! Just bought a copy, and I'm pretty excited about it :D

TPBM enjoys tent camping.

message 7744: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Not really. Prefer a city or seaside hotel over sleeping in a tent. Hotels are cozy and comfy.

TPBM watched the anime series “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” and had a difficult time understanding it.

message 7745: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I've never actually watched anime yet, though I'm getting interested in it :)

TPBM is fascinated by sociopathy.

message 7746: by Guy (last edited Mar 22, 2016 09:54PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, as I had an intimate encounter with it. Hence my reading scores of psychology, personal development and philosophy books.

TPBM thinks that more truth can be found in good fiction and literature than in non-fiction.

message 7747: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Definitely, though I'm still curious as to why.

TPBM thinks that poetry can convey more truth than prose :)

message 7748: by Deepak (new)

Deepak (noobhemingway) | 284 comments Yes. And I think it can convey a lot more emotion than prose too.

@Grace, I just finished Bioshock Infinite. It was one of the best games I'd played recently. I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and the story was just amazing. Recommended! :D

TPBM likes neologisms like "chairdrobe".

message 7749: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I had to look up 'neologism' (thanks for the cool word!) but yes I love them!

TPBM likes finding the roots and old meanings of words :)

message 7750: by Deepak (last edited Mar 22, 2016 08:50PM) (new)

Deepak (noobhemingway) | 284 comments Very much so! I found out why the past tense of teach is taught because I love looking up stuff like that.

[The root of teach is tǣcan and the past tense of that was tahte. I couldn't find the right spelling for tahte. So excuse that!]

TPBM wonders if time travel to the past would ever be possible.
