message 7601: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'm currently in between stories, my friend. Yesterday, I entered the monthly contest with "Medicine Man" and before the week is over, I'll enter the "Paper Hearts" contest with "Ninja". It feels good to be busy. :)

TPBM has given up fast food except for Subway and lost weight because of it.

message 7602: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments well, I'm gluten intolerant, so pretty much any restaurant food is off-limits for me, sadly. I haven't lost any weight since being off gluten, but my brain fog and mood swings are almost gone, so that's a huge plus :)

[and I loved Medicine Man! awesome ending :D]

TPBM has done house remodeling at some point in their life.

message 7603: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments More than you could imagine, actually.

TPBM loves to paint his/her home.

message 7604: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments OOC: I'm glad you enjoyed it, Grace! That makes me happy!

IC: When the time comes for my family to move out of this house (which won't be for ages), we're going to paint the walls a bunch of funky colors and hopefully it'll be fun. My room is going to be cyan-colored. :)

TPBM feels misanthropic in a room full of loud people.

message 7605: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Oddly enough, if they're people I know or care about a roomful of them can make me misanthropic, but I have no problem with loud crowds of strangers.

TPBM cannot resist petting a purring cat.

message 7606: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I do that every night when my old brown kitty Smokey sleeps next to me. ^_^

TPBM thinks the bears in the Charmin commercials are cute even though all they ever talk about is taking a dump.

message 7607: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Every time that commercial comes on everyone in the house dives for the 'mute' button... they're pretty cute once you can't hear them, though :)

TPBM has an unusual method for plotting stories.

message 7608: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Maybe. I usually center a story around a scene, just something interesting happening that might only take 30 seconds in real time.

TPBM has read a book in under 24 hours before.

message 7609: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments That used to be a standard reading time for me, but I've slowed down a bit in the past couple years :)

TPBM loves books with illustrations in them.

message 7610: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Absolutely! There are some books with wonderful illustrations out there.

(Garrison, is Smokey a new cat? I haven't heard you talk about him before. I remember you mentioning two other cats though.)

TPBM loves that rock, paper, scissors commercial that android made.

message 7611: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I am unfamiliar with it. I'm pretty much a non-TV watcher, except by default because of my wife.

TPBM was too busy this morning to eat breakfast.

message 7612: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I woke up on time this morning and even made pancakes before school.

TPBM is going to the library tomorrow.

message 7613: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Nope. I'm trying to swear off it for awhile while I read the books that I already have :)

TPBM has one book, movie or tv show that they expected to hate but now love.

message 7614: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments More than one.

TPBM has at least one book that when they first read it s/he found it very disappointing, but on a second read were surprised that they like it.

message 7615: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad. I've only read it once, but I thought it was just pointlessly depressing until my brother told me his reasons for liking it. Once I saw things from his point of view, I saw the coolness of it too :)

TPBM enjoys chess.

message 7616: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do, although I haven't played it in a long time.

TPBM loves the ancient Chinese game of Go.

message 7617: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I can't remember the rules now, but I know I used to love that game :)

TPBM has a favorite Shakespeare play.

message 7618: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments It's always the one that I am reading at the time. But slightly above that is Hamlet and Timon of Athens. And Twelfth Night and Cymbeline. And Antony and Cleopatra and Measure for Measure. Oh my...

TPBM likes the irony that infuses Shakespeare's Measure for Measure.

message 7619: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Ahh yes!! I also thought it was pretty cool how it used the 'tragic' plot of a good man falling to corruption, then turned it around into something hopeful. It just made the happy ending so much more beautiful :)

TPBM enjoys reading G.K. Chesterton.

message 7620: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Fun, certainly, but nothing out of the ordinary :)

TPBM is working on writing a novel.

message 7621: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not recently, but an unfinished one is asking me to finish it.

TPBM is having dental work today.

message 7622: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 119 comments Nope.

TPBM is reading a classic?

message 7623: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments My senior literature class is reading Hamlet together right now. Does that count?

TPBM sometimes gets bored and decides to do the responsibilities they've been procrastinating for days.

message 7624: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Yes, that's how I know I'm truly bored.

TPBM has a tbr list on the side that's purely audio.

message 7625: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. I haven't given audio books a try yet.

TPBM ate breakfast very late today.

message 7626: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I woke up late, so I suppose so :)

TPBM likes fantasy novels set in eastern-type countries.

message 7627: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I've only found a few that fit that description, but if you have any recommendations for me, I'll add them to my to-read list :)

TPBM got a new book today.

message 7628: by Guy (last edited Mar 14, 2016 01:11PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I did. The Candida Cure Cookbook by Ann Boroch.

TPBM has gone on different diets with mixed results.

message 7629: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Just the gluten-free one, and I try to stay away from sugar.

TPBM is still struggling to find a balance between being honest about their opinions and not offending people with them.

message 7630: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I don't feel like that's a huge problem for me.

TPBM has been working on not being so easily offended by other people's opinions.

message 7631: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments It's rare for me to be offended by any opinion, but I'm still figuring out when to argue the point or just let it go.

TPBM is a huge fan of ridiculous plot twists.

message 7632: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments If by ridiculous, you mean unexpected, then yes. One of my favorite authors has killed off his narrators in unexpected ways and I've loved (and hated). He's even had a few villains who weren't villains.

TPBM has had cheese cake this week

message 7633: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Nope. Though that sounds pretty awesome.

TPBM loves Doctor Who.

message 7634: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Absolutely! It's fantastic! ;) My friends and I are constantly making Doctor Who references. I even know someone who programmed his phone to have Gallifreyan numbers as his passcode, and so that the screen reads "Count the shadows" instead of slide to open.

TPBM thinks John Barrowman and Tom Cruise look very similar.

message 7635: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yes!! Hugely so.

[gallifreyan numbers as a passcode would be so cool!! I'm jealous. Also impressed :D

TPBM has a favorite Doctor but sees the coolness of all of them.

message 7636: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments They all have their special traits :)

TPBM wishes the 9th doctor had stayed longer.

message 7637: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Aw man yes. He was awesome!

TPBM enjoys archery.

message 7638: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I've never done it, but I really want to!!!

TPBM misses being young and having dentists ask you what flavor toothpaste you want.

message 7639: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I stay away from dentists at all costs now. That flavored toothpaste was fun though :)

TPBM wants to travel to Siberia someday.

message 7640: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not really. I've lived in a cold part of Canada in my youth, maybe that tempers the interest.

TPBM is going on an overnight trip this week.

message 7641: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) No.

TPBM can read in a car without feeling sick.

message 7642: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes!

TPBM reads books while walking.

message 7643: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I CAN read while walking and not run into anything, but I usually don't.

TPBM doesn't understand how hair extensions work.

message 7644: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I have been mystified by them for some time now. Are they glued to the ends of your actual hair? Are they held onto your head by magic? It's just strange.

TPBM loves the idea of reading classics but has a hard time getting into them.

message 7645: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I dive into the classics whenever my intuition takes me to them, and unless the writing is unreadable I not only read them but enjoy them. (I'm currently reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and I'm enjoying the ornate and meandering way he tells the story.)

TPBM started reading classics before s/he knew the difference between classics and the other stuff.

message 7646: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Most of what I read in college could be considered classics since one of my classes was Pre-15th Century Literature (barf).

OOC: Angie, I've had Smokey since 2013. There are pictures of her in the Photos thread if you want to have a look at how cute she is. ^_^

TPBM constantly has dreams at night about going back to school.

message 7647: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I don't remember many of my dreams, but they're usually weirder than going back to school.

TPBM can run in heels.

message 7648: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Depends on the heels. Cork wedges are actually pretty comfortable for running, though you can't go that fast-more like a weird-looking stride/jog thing :)

TPBM loves the look of city streets at night.

message 7649: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Definitely. Downtown Phoenix is one of my favorite places at night because there are these really cool glass sculptures with colored light and it really brings out the sky line.

TPBM finished a book recently.

message 7650: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Just finished reading 'Alarms and Discursions'by G.K. Chesterton. It was really inspiring and fun :)

TPBM finds snakes cute.
